jsslatic
Perhaps it's because the mentality has been 'mid-table/stay in the division to start with...' with every manager since Warnock that we've become bogged down in this division-and been lucky to stay in it a couple of times. Low ambition guarantees low achievement. Ambition or expectation? Noone wants to be in mid-table, everyone wants us to be competing at the top end. Unfortunately, in comparison to previous seasons, the expectation won't be too high for next season. We are currently operating with a distinctly average squad, and won't have much money to improve it. Saying we expect to finish mid-tableish next season isn't a sign of low ambition, just of realistic expectation given the parameters within which DP will have to work. This is also the same as as been said more or less every season except the last one and the Chris Moore seasons. Like I said, it's why we've become bogged down. It is up to those at the club who have the power to do something about it to do so because, as we have seen, even the diehard fans have become fed-up with third-tier football and false dawns, and are drifting away. The longer we stay at this level the more the chances that we'll sink further.

Diego_Sideburns
I only want Latics to sign him, so he doesnt run rings around 'dales midfield everytime I see him. I thought the idea was that Dale get promoted to play us next season.

JohnnyPimp
Like it or not. There's one or two Darlo players who could walk straight into our starting line up. But we're getting 3 aren't we?! Edited April 30, 2009 by JohnnyPimp
Butter
I really love it how people are just assuming any players playing for a Divison 4 club are not good enough for a division 3 club. And coincidentally it's the same poeple who bleat about us not sourcing talent from lower leagues. Richard Butcher is my reason for thinking that. lol. These players-whoever they maybe will put the effort in to succeed at this Level, which will already make them better players than 80% of our lot that have played this season.
