leeslover
Gambles that haven't paid off in recent times for one reason or another Ricketts Adebola Ormerod Byfield Windass Cooper Robertson Pav if we can get him on the pitch week in week out will score goals and soon become a hero. Scores all types of goals and gets on the end of things. Could maybe quibble with the bottom two a bit? Kenny was :censored:, but he got a couple in his short time here. Robertson had an excellent goals to games ratio, and hopefully we didn't have to pay his wages when he got knacked, in which case no harm done. Between the pair of them they outscored the combined tally of a few bigshot signings this season!
BigfinLatic
Yep Porter young lad only scored a few for Bury - 32 goals in 1 and a bit seasons Hughes out of the game for over 3 years - 26 goals in 1 and a half seasons Wijnhard - Recovering from serious injury scores 10 in 6 Beckett - Scores 24 goals in only 36 games - last throw of the dice Davies - Young journeyman, scores 14 by February All the above were big, big gambles that all paid off in the short term, hopefully we'll get one that pays off in full, Pav may be that guy and at only 27 still has a lot to prove to us and himself after a nightmare time with injuries, a less than productive time with Swansea and a high-profile fall-out with Peter Jackson. Gambles that haven't paid off in recent times for one reason or another Ricketts Adebola Ormerod Byfield Windass Cooper Robertson Pav if we can get him on the pitch week in week out will score goals and soon become a hero. Scores all types of goals and gets on the end of things. There is however one big difference between the list at the bottom and the 'successes' at the top - the diference being that other than Ricketts, they were all loan signings. It was a massive characteristic of Shez's time that he always seemed capable of building a decent core of players, but terrible at knowing how to get the best out of them, and even worse at supplementing them with quality loan signings. It could be argues that other than O'Grady, who is really relatively un proven, all the strikers that have been full-time employees during Shez's time have been relatively succesful. Ricketts is an exception, but I both disagree that he didnt offer something - and that he was signed by sheridan, so he doesnt reallycount... I think pav will be a success, he will score goals... and I think Penney will put together a decent squad of honest pros. As has been said before - perhaps whether he succeeds or not will be down to him using the loan market to add quality a little better than sheridan did. The Answer That Was Jordan Robertson started twice for us, plus came on as a sub and scored one goal. This season he has played 11 games and scored once. not good is it? Bring Back Ronnie Moore
Starting to think that this isn't the done deal people were making it out to be.
opinions4u
Starting to think that this isn't the done deal people were making it out to be. Is he a fee agent yet - most players would be contracted to 30th June, although the Darlington situation is probably different. If not, is the transfer window open yet?
