laticsmike Posted June 17, 2009 Share Posted June 17, 2009 Think the fixtures computer has done alright for us this year- despite all the big trips we could have got on a Tues night we get Leeds, MK Dons (not all that hard to get back from if you are driving) and Millwall (where not many will go). No doubt we will have other fixtures midweek but that will be the result of weather or cup ties. I'm not so sure having Leeds on a Tuesday night for the 3rd year running is exactly fair. We need the revenue and a packed BP on a Saturday is a far better guarantee of that!! Then, I am biased cos I'm faced with a 360 mile return trip to BP and back for every home match. I think the decision to play L***s on a Tuesday is a police one, rather than a glitch in the FL fixture generator. It does make you wonder how we were ever allowed to play on a Saturday when we were in the Premiership and getting crowds of 13000 if the police can't deal with a crowd of less than 8000 (as it was last season) on the same day that City or United are playing.
