Richard Jobson.

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if anyone knows whether he went to the University of Nottingham for a year because my tutor told me today (after we got talking about football) that he knew one former student - Jobson - was headhunted by Watford during his first year and would like to know if anyone knows if it is Richard Jobson.

Thanks.

I don't know whether he is a graduate or not. My tutor just said a lad called Jobson whose first name he couldn't remember. But I don't recall many Jobson's about at the time (even though I wasn't there) so thought it probably was him.

Thanks though.

Yes, I think he started his career at Watford as a winger and was then converted to a centre half.

Yup, Richard Jobson did some cracking tunes, "Into the Valley" and "The Saints are Coming" come to mind.

He presented on TV for a while didn't he ;)

Yes, he was a cracking player, almost never missed a header and if I remember correctly he had a great shot on him too. I think the females in the crowd considered him popular too.

The Jobbo for England chants are still fresh in the memory, what a great defender
