Recommended Posts

Summary of the Latics Player interview...

There's been a lot of positivity about the ground move...the local businesses in Failsworth are particularly supportive, lots of letters, phone-calls emails and texts received in support.

some people aren't true believers about the new stadium or convinced by the necessity of the move

need a stadium with four sides, pleasant to visit and able to entertain guests

still a little bit of opposition and not reported correctly, sensitive to opposition but we are the custodians of the club and we think it will be of benefit to the club and it is the right decision - not a done deal.

Some people just don't want change

Still hoping to break ground in the Spring

Corney reckons the training and professionalism and camaradery is the best in his 6 years

Pleased for Brill in his upturn in form (must be pre-Southampton)

Newton reckons the new ground will be the catalyst for increased crowds and that will bring success on the pitch

Penney - culture of inclusion, professionalism translating itself onto the pitch

Mood in the camp is a marked improvement on previous regimes, training hard

Loanees - Corney do we ever say no?

Newton - We'll have to see how viable the request is.

Seems Newton well and truly has his feet under the table..., Must be an interview from last week, but a fair summary...

You saved your best for last, didn't you? Because the biggest criticism of the club last season was that TTA didn't fund enough loan signings.

There's been a lot of positivity about the ground move...the local businesses in Failsworth are particularly supportive, lots of letters, phone-calls emails and texts received in support.--- ( NO MENTION HERE OF THE `ACTUAL PEOPLE` OF FAILSWORTH BEING SUPPORTIVE AS THEY OBVIOUSLY ARE NOT ).

some people aren't true believers about the new stadium or convinced by the necessity of the move- (THE MAJORITY ADD UP TO MORE THAN `SOME` !!

need a stadium with four sides, pleasant to visit and able to entertain guests- (YEAH...WE COULD SELL A HULL OR STOKE STADIUM ALL DAY LONG, BUT NOT THE ONE WE HAVE ALLOWED TO RUN DOWN TO THE BARE BONES ).

still a little bit of opposition and not reported correctly, sensitive to opposition but we are the custodians of the club and we think it will be of benefit to the club and it is the right decision - not a done deal.- ( `A LITTLE BIT OF OPPOSITION`...`SENSITIVE TO IT`- REALLY MEANS A LOT OF OPPOSITION, AND WER`E ONLY A `LITTLE` SENSITIVE TO IT.....AND `WE` ARE UN-DEMOCRATICALLY PLOUGHING AHEAD ANYWAY....REGARDLESS.

Some people just don't want change-....(BUT WE ARE CAREFULLY PLOTTING A COURSE WHICH ALL OPPOSITION WILL HAVE TO ADHERE TO EVENTUALLY).

Still hoping to break ground in the Spring- ( MOST PROBS ON APRIL FOOLS DAY)

Corney reckons the training and professionalism and camaradery is the best in his 6 years- ( LIKE, YEAH MAN...ANYTHINGS BETTER THAN THE LAST 5 REGIMES WE`VE PAYED OUT FOR ).

Newton reckons the new ground will be the catalyst for increased crowds and that will bring success on the pitch- ( EVEN THE NAME `FAILS-WORTH` DOES`NT RING ANY ALARM BELLS WITH US ).

Penney - culture of inclusion, professionalism translating itself onto the pitch- ( BUT WE DO HAVE EXCEPTIONS, Eg- NO COMPETITION FOR KEY DEFENSIVE POSITIONS ).

Mood in the camp is a marked improvement on previous regimes, training hard- ( NO MORE SHEZ BRINGING A CRATE OF ALE IN FOR THE LADS TO HELP WITH PRE-TRAINING WARM UP ).

Loanees - Corney do we ever say no?.... (.I`LL LET MR NEWTON ANSWER THAT ONE).

Newton - We'll have to see how viable the request is. ( IF IT`S KEEPER , OR C-B COVER THEN `NO`...BUT MORE MID-FIELDERS ARE WELCOME ).

NOW ENTER WHAT YOU THINK,THEY ACTUALLY MEANT

There's been a lot of positivity about the ground move...the local businesses in Failsworth are particularly supportive, lots of letters, phone-calls emails and texts received in support - the businesses can't believe their luck that a football ground wants to move into their :censored:-hole slum of an area!

some people aren't true believers about the new stadium or convinced by the necessity of the move, Barry what the fook do we pay you for - you said the dissenters would have been silenced by now.

need a stadium with four sides, pleasant to visit and able to entertain guests - yes it will pleasant for everyone to visit, especially the opposition as we'll have spent all our money on a lego stadium and because we'll be getting crowds of 2,500-3,000 we'll have a conference standard squad.

still a little bit of opposition and not reported correctly, - How dare the press report people's misgivings

sensitive to opposition - but we'll ride roughshod over you...

but we are the custodians of the club - and we feel we can say balls to all of you and do what will earn us the most ££££££

and we think it will be of benefit to the club and it is the right decision - We hope anyway...

- not a done deal, if this goes tits up we're gone

Some people just don't want change - none believing wankers

Still hoping to break ground in the Spring- 2013

Corney reckons the training and professionalism and camaradery is the best in his 6 years - The new manager does not let me interfere

Pleased for Brill in his upturn in form (must be pre-Southampton)-we thought he was a feckin' donut, now we think he's average

Newton reckons the new ground will be the catalyst for increased crowds and that will bring success on the pitch - we'll enjoy several last day escapes

Penney - culture of inclusion, professionalism translating itself onto the pitch - the players look very smart in their new Primark suits

Mood in the camp is a marked improvement on previous regimes, training hard - the cattle prods were a sound investment

Loanees - Corney do we ever say no? only when the player is not represented by the stellar group

Newton - We'll have to see how viable the request is. - How desperately do you want the player Dave? - dance like David Brent and beat Big Gord' in a pie eating contest whilst singing Nessun Dorma, then we'll talk....

Well, I guess it depends how big an area you include. Sh*thole slum would arguably be relevant in the context of the proposed site being sandwiched between Moston and Newton Heath, although it would be unfair to describe Broadway as such, or indeed most of Failsworth.

Not hugely dissimilar to Boundary Park I guess, with (quite well off) Royton on one side and Westwood on the other.

Broadway junction and that area of Oldham Road where the majority of the businesses are is a dump, of course some of the back streets are pleasant enough but those business owners applauding the move know their businesses are in a pretty run-down area.

Summary of the Latics Player interview...

There's been a lot of positivity about the ground move...the local businesses in Failsworth are particularly supportive, lots of letters, phone-calls emails and texts received in support.- Positivity coming from where? the fans heart? I've not heard an enhanced heartbeat since it was announced. Correspondence in various forms........Spin!

some people aren't true believers about the new stadium or convinced by the necessity of the move- After hearing numerous plans can you blame them?

need a stadium with four sides, pleasant to visit and able to entertain guests

still a little bit of opposition and not reported correctly, sensitive to opposition but we are the custodians of the club and we think it will be of benefit to the club and it is the right decision - not a done deal.-Concerned of a few wannabe farmers and the 'nimbys'?

Some people just don't want change- You will get that in every walk of life, the move to Failsworth 'may' attract some more fans but 'may' also lose some./b]

Still hoping to break ground in the Spring-Why so long? How long has 'a' move been on the cards!

Corney reckons the training and professionalism and camaradery is the best in his 6 years- 'Comeradery' doesn't happen in a matter of months, it takes a lot longer than that. Greegs and Rubes FFS talk to each other, I thought you pair had a lovers tiff!

Pleased for Brill in his upturn in form (must be pre-Southampton)-Agreed, impressed with him at Charlton, made some easy eye saves

Newton reckons the new ground will be the catalyst for increased crowds and that will bring success on the pitch-Not IMO, I could be proved wrong though.

Penney - culture of inclusion, professionalism translating itself onto the pitch-the man for the job IMO

Mood in the camp is a marked improvement on previous regimes, training hard- Presumably reffering to the RSEND of last season, can't be hard to beat that IMO

Loanees - Corney do we ever say no?- An awful run of bad luck regarding injuries up to yet, I'm happy with the teams league position under the current circumstances.

Newton - We'll have to see how viable the request is.

Seems Newton well and truly has his feet under the table..., Must be an interview from last week, but a fair summary...

WTF has our ginger winger been diagnosed with????
