Lee Hughes to Millwall

Recommended Posts

As hilarious as it would be, this would be the shock news event of the year for me and it's only half way through Jan. Just think of the security they would have to lay on for him for starters, and the moralists who would make a big show of burning their ST books in front of a pie 'n mash shop wearing gay Nazi memorabilia

Bearing in mind the guy once had to be taxi'd away from the New Den before the final whistle in the interests of his safety, things must be really going tits up at Notts County for him to even be considering going to Millwall.

Still, all conjecture thus far.

Perhaps it's all a ruse anyway...Hughes will go to the Den to sign a deal, do a Wijnhard/Moore/Idrizaj, do a runner and then get himself up to BP in time to sign for us and knock a hat trick against them on the 23rd.

They'd love him even more for that.

Just when Millwall have come out of the Football Association Regulatory Commission inquiry smelling of roses, with West Ham being found guilty of failure to ensure their supporters "refrained from violent, threatening, obscene and provocative behaviour" on the night of their Carling Cup-tie in August last year.

Millwall’s Chief Executive said:

"As ever this club condemns all misbehaviour within football stadia and works tirelessly to eradicate misconduct and to continue to change an unfair and distorted misconception of Millwall Football Club and its fans”.

He might rue those words if Hughes’ arrival at the New Den proves it not to be a misconception.
