What ever Happens, The Boys in Blue will be on there in full. I rekon I could get about four more in a decent size font on a sheet of A4, depends on the length of the songs of course. Please vote, I want it to work so everyone has a good time. Dont choose more than four songs please.

I'm probably going to get abused for this, buuuuuuuuuuuuutt.....

 

why don't you just concentrate on singing songs about Latics rather than slagging off other teams? I know we have hate the scum, but songs should cheer the team on. Songs slagging other teams off are just negative.

Actually I agree on the whole, we need a celebration atmosphere going, not a hate-fuelled one, which might not be the best if things go wrong early on (before we get behind the team and they pull it back of course). I still like Diego's two-verse one though, it's really just a funny way to get round to, "Come on Oldham!"

 

Incidentally, I'm sure that the Famous Man United did go to Rome to see the Pope the other week. Hope the new His Holyness knew what to do :cardinal:

Lovin the Taylor song, up there with some of the best. Just got a point to make about 'the wild rover'...... How about a little lyric change to make it personal to the tics?

Incidently, i have a mate thats followed blackburn since he was a wee boy (he's 34ish) and he is bemused by our hatred of them!!! Says he couldn't give a hoot about us, he saves all his bile for burnley!!

 

Like the Andy Ritchie song too but how about songs about Shez and the current crop?

I agree with you Jac about slagging off other teams.

 

This interest in songs all came about following last week's recollections about songs we no longer sing, and then SW decided to do his song sheet based on that type of song. It's come to a sorry state of affairs that we need a song sheet to get more people singing, but I don't want to discourage efforts to change things for the better. Those who know the old songs should have been singing them loud enough and often enough to teach the younger fans without it coming to this.

 

When it comes to the crunch "Come on Oldham", "Oh! When the Blues", "Blue Flag" and "Sheridan's Blue & White Army" should suffice if repeated often enough on Saturday. Then hopefully, after the game, we can all sing "Jingle Bells" and "EI EI EIO". The others are OK for in the pub.

Ok People. The votes were counted at around 9:30pm.

 

As you know, 'The Boys in Blue' is already included.

 

The winner was: Chris Taylor Dynamite as submitted (and written) by tricky17 (well done mate good song)

 

Next on the sheet was 'Walking down sheepfoot lane'

 

Then 'B*****d Rovers'

 

Followed by a controversial decision from me. Aftr being made aware that songs 2 and 3 are actually verse one and two of the same song, i added the votes together. Meaning that 'See the Pope' makes it on.

 

Finally i had enough room for 'We are the Oldham Boys'

 

I want to thank all that have submitted songs, all that have voted and OWTB for being able to do this.

 

Please note that because of timescales this sheet does not look like the dog's undercarriage but it serves its purpose. Hopefully i will get enough printed for everyone to see on Saturday.
