LaticsLee
They also have to take into consideration fan safety ie in and around the ground.

keep_the_faith
by the time we play carlisle on boxing day, it will have been over 2 months since latics lost a league game!
Museum de Latique
spend all this money on a new stadium but cant spare a few quid on undersoil heating? Apparently they DO have undersoil heating but cant afford to connect it!!
TheBigDog
spend all this money on a new stadium but cant spare a few quid on undersoil heating? Agree with that sentiment but even if the pitch had been deemed playable, I'm not sure I would have fancied the journey... it's Trotman I feel sorry for... PlayItLivo
Maybe these postponements aren't so bad. They're frustrating 'cause by next Sunday it'll be like a month since our last game and that's a long time to go without a fix of Latics. But we have a young team that have been through some tough games, maybe our tiredness was starting to show at the likes of Rochdale and Exeter. This break might be what we need to rejuvenate us and help us kick on the second half of the season fresh, so that we don't burn out later on. It happens with Arsenal like every season. They look like title contenders then come March they gas out and drop silly points at home 'cause they get outworked and out hustled, hence why Wenger is always whittling on about a break. So yeah, for this young team a break now might benefit us later in the season.

Fan up the ladder
by the time we play carlisle on boxing day, it will have been over 2 months since latics lost a league game! That got me thinking, does anyone know what the highest number of consecutive postponements is that we've had, or the longest time without a game, outside of summer and world wars?! opinions4u
Exeter v Wednesday is on... So it is - my apologies. <insert reason for oversight when I've thought one up> I'll give that game a miss (no flights from Manchester to Exeter on Saturdays)! Do we want a draw or a home win? The problem with the postponements is that we'll face a pile of a games in a short period of time in january and feb.. if we dont have any more postponements we'll have 7 games in 21 days from carlisle on boxing day, to plymouth on jan 15th so thats about a game every 3 days.. Do we want a draw or a home win? It's amazing how clubs in our League pull out all the stops when Sheff Wed come to town. The other week Swindon managed to get their game on against them despite the terrible weather that saw every other match in our League off, and now Exeter have too.................Wonder if they would go to the same lengths if we were playing them..... *Cynical hat taken off*

laticsrblue
who said all these postponed fixtures will be played in january ? Till today's match the postponed games have been rearranged for free FA cup Saturdays, todays can be rearranges for a free midweeek slot. So there are no pileups to get worked up about, yet.
