Dave_Og
Has no-one seriously mentioned Neil Redfrearn yet?
Tommy_Fent
I met up with David Eyres after he was released at Hyde, he said it was Ronnie Moore told him that he wasn't good enough
garcon
Do you believe everything a scouser tells you?
mikejh45
Completely wide of the mark on both counts, IMHO. Eyres's legs had gone and he knew it. As mentioned, the fact nobody in League Two gave him a chance tells the story. Didn't look knackered at the end of that season. Mark Hughes was simply one of those lads who could never build enough stamina to run around for 90 minutes, 40-odd games a season. His inexorable descent from promising youngster at Tottenham to non-league is ample proof of that. He was good enough for us to give him a contract and played very well for 90 mins. on several occasions and would have given Linford Christie a run over 100m when he scored that goal. I think he was popular because he gave his all in terms of effort. I believe he's now with Barnet. Edited March 28, 2011 by mikejh45
