peanuts Posted May 28, 2011 Share Posted May 28, 2011 latics liners used to run regular late 70s early80s went to leicester wrexham x2 wimbledon (fa cup )liverpool wednesday used to work for BR at stockport and got a lift on trains from brighton leicester west ham from there to werneth a few times when they stopped to change engines .wasnt just the big clubs ran them port vale and crewe ran footexes to nearly every away game ! Citeah and manure didnt run that many mainly just to wembly .quite a few clubs had there own stations close or attached to there ground just for footexes hull manure bristol city exeter and wednesday to name a few . Lost 0-1 and when the train dropped Vic Halom and Ged Keegan off at somewhere like Wilmslow station, one wag shouted from the train "se ya Vic - leave that c*&t at home next week!"
