athleticus
I just noticed Hartlepool had a crowd of over 5300 against Bury on Saturday (hardly a big draw for them). They generally get very low crowds. It just goes to show what a run of good results can do. If we can keep up the momentum we should do better than that in theory as they historically get considerbly lower crowds than us. In reality would this be the case? the_mighty_bosh
A good run of results...and because their season tickets are £100. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2015235/Fans-rush-buy-Hartlepool-season-tickets--just-100.html

They've had a great start but it has had no bearing at all on the attendances as 5300 (£530,000) was their season ticket take so apart from a few Bury fans they had no pay on the day punters at all....sounds like a great offer to the fans and food and programme sales will be up but surely in the long term totally unsustainable. We've probably raked in a similar amount with only 2000 season tickets sold..........just on the home game with Sheff Utd alone we will have taken an extra £100,000 on pay on the day punters with an extra £30,000 of that from our own fans. The only way an offer like this is sustainable is if the wage bill is covered by the season ticket money, with surplus. I doubt their wage bill will be half a million a year. A wage bill of half a million would just about cover the basic wages of a 16 man squad on a basic wage of £600 a week each, or 19 man squad of pros on a basic of £500 a week. Thats not including win/goalscoring bonuses, nor the wages of youth team, management, coaching staff, non playing staff etc. And you have to add bills on top of that. OldhamSheridan
I think they've raked in a fair bit more than usual from advertising at the ground. But, as has been said it isn't sustainable. I think IOR are taking the financial hit like they do every year though.
Roger Ritchie
Huddersfield did £100 season tickets for their 100th year. Then put the tickets up each year. Managed to attract a few new fans and put a bit of life into the club. The increasing sales of Christmas cards might have helped a bit too.
