brad
Last year Yeovil were struggling and were close to going down but they changed their manager Skiverton to assistant and brought Gary Johnson in. Most games Skiverton gives the orders while Johnson takes a back seat role seeing over the squad etc. Does anyone think this could work here because its worked wonders for Yeovil. HarryBosch
Would Skiverton and Johnson both come though?
KYLEOAFC
Yeovil was different because Johnson was a legend for yeovil and the fans wanted him back. Its like us bringing Big Joe back and moving Dickov to number two. Hmmmmmm lol.
Chaddyender2
Another question is would Dickov stay around to be someones no.2? I dont think he would stand for it tbh. Im sure another club in our position would gamble on making him manager, hoping for another kuqi esc signing.
rudemedic
Possibly, but whilst Yeovil are currently doing very well, the season is a marathon not a sprint. Therefore, perhaps we should give it a bit longer before copying a management style that might not work.
NewBlue
Whatever they've done, its giving the rejects from other clubs, like Marsh-Brown and Reid from us, some confidence and freedom to attack that the players here feel like they're restricted from and bound to tippy-tappy defensive football. It sounds like a great idea to me to have another persepective to aid our young manager but Dickov probably wouldn't give up his managerial position to be demoted to assistant. However, with this sort of partnership, surely they would have to have a similar view on tactics, formations and the whole game of football in general and do we want somebody at the club who shares tactical ideologies with Dickov? I would say not.
oafc1955
He doesn't have to be relegated to assistant, he just needs a more experienced assistant.
