True or not, I wonder whether Dickov would prefer to be at prudent Oldham, where cash might be tight but the finances pretty stable, or at a club that is over stretching itself...

Maybe my memory is gone, but didn't Dickov want to stay, but realised it wasn't working and time was up for him? So, surely yes he would be at prudent Oldham as opposed to the innuendo above that he ditched us for a better offer.

Sorry, my comments were direct at a very vocal Dickov at the start of the season stating he didn't have two pennies to rub together at Oldham and that he had significant backing at Doncaster.

Donny fan in peace...

You lot were right. He's bloody clueless.

We've scored 2 in the last 7 league games (one was an OG), 19 goals in 24 all season, and he's shipped another striker and attacking midfielder out of the club this week despite the fact we only have one other fit striker and can't score for sh*t.

Oh, and there's a different excuse every week. He must have used all his other ones in previous weeks, because we've cycled back round to "one lapse in concentration cost us" today.

Well done on the win today against the side that played us off the park in the Cup last week. Probably see you next season. :comeon:

But do you like the bloke? As a man? That's how he kept his job for so long at Boundary Park.

Haha. I don't know really. Perhaps that's what's keeping him here. He was only appointed in the first place because he's the former chairman's mate so maybe.

Yes to all of the above. It's usually a case of take your pick from any one of the following:

- Boys worked ever so hard.

- "They (opposition) are a really good side"

- "It was a game too far for the boys"

- Players are tired

- We're missing key players

- "Switched off from a set play" (interchangeable with "lapse in concentration" if we conceded from open play)

- Bad officiating/missed chance was a "turning point" or "it would've been a different game"

- "We were excellent" (when we weren't) or "take the positives"

- Losing patience with the players, they have to take responsibility. (Then makes 4 or 5 changes and we get the same result the following week, because the problem is actually his tactics)

I'm assuming this sounds all too familiar. Feel free to tell me to do one if you're trying to erase all this rubbish from your mind from his time at BP.

lol dont think you will find a latics fan who didnt like Paul Dickov the man. But marmite as a manager. Got to be frustrating listening to the weekly soundbites.

Think that is why LJ is doubted on certain things PR wise but everyone like we did with PD wants him to make that difference. But LJ more likely to do so.

Good luck you need it. Breaking wage structure for Wellens says a lot.

How is Captain crab performing (Furman) .....?

Furman's doing ok after a dodgy start to the season. Trouble is, Dickov seems to prefer him as a "holding" type player, when it's blatantly obvious to most people that he's much better playing further forward.

One annoying habit of Furman's is that he gets a booking almost every match for a clumsy challenge of some sort. We've started calling him the bowling ball, because he seems to have a spell in every match where his only contribution is to run round like a man possessed knocking people over.

He didn't play today though. Marc De Val got a chance instead.
