disjointed
I'm driving down from Scotland and hoping to arrive about 12ish, anybody know of any decent parking that will be open at that time. Would have thought you could take your pick of parking at that time, last time I parked at the back of the Everton ground facing Stanley park. It was a car pound or something like that, they charged a tenner and crammed em in like sardines, this time I might park on the sports centre before you get near Evertons ground, forget the name of it and it is most probably a 10 to 15 minute walk to Goodison and then another 5 or 10 through the park to Anfield. There was a thread about this sports centre when we played Everton but I cant be arsed finding it. Sorry but that is the best I can do. Have a safe journey and enjoy our victory. Parking: The roads around the stadium get very congested towards kick-off and getting away after the game can take a while. The area is residential with lots of terraced houses in narrow streets. A residents-only parking scheme has been introduced in some streets around the stadium, so check any signs first. Parking restrictions are heavily enforced and cover every possible kick-off time. Advice issued by Liverpool City Council: The football match residents parking zones around Everton and Liverpool Football Clubs are for resident permit holders only. You may be approached on match days by people in yellow jackets illegally directing you to park on the public highway for a fee of £5. If you ask for a receipt, they will show you an empty receipt book and claim to have run out. It is a particular problem for streets directly off Robson Street and Breckfield Road North. Merseyside Police are aware of this problem. If you are approached by people claiming to be council staff and offering parking facilities in a residential street, this is likely to be bogus. The council does not operate any pay to park facilities within the football match parking zone and all council staff are issued with an ID badge and should provide it on demand. If you park within a football match residents parking zone (FMPZ), you may be issued with a penalty charge notice. Stanley Park Car Park (£8) is on Priory Road, off Utting Avenue. There are plenty of car parks within 5-15 min walk, in schools/industrial units, etc. These cost around £5-£7 (closer = more expensive). Otherwise it is an idea to park in the streets around Goodison Park and walk across Stanley Park to Anfield, or you can park in a secure parking area at Goodison itself which costs £10. Parking provision is also available at The Dockers’ Club, home of Liverpool County Premier League side Waterloo Dock on Townsend Lane (A580) at a cost of £5. It is then a 15 minute walk to Anfield. Break The Silence
We ended up in The Flat Iron on Anfield Road. Must say, the locals were a friendly enough bunch. We took one step inside The Arkles and thought :censored: that. It resembled that bar scene in Star Wars, except with more shell suits.
