JCH
My dad recently passed away a d I've found a share certificate dated 1949 showing that he has 10 x 10 shilling shares. Are these worth anything?
leeslover
I don't believe so - sentimental value only
oafcprozac
The old club was liquidated in January 2004 this Oldham Athletic 2004 so from my understanding any value would have disappeared with the old club?
ghostofcecere
My family had 20 original shares as my great grandfather Alfred Tetlow was one of the men who founded Oldham Athletic.... as Prozac said, that club folded with Chris Moore, so any shares prior to 2004 are meaningless now. leeslover
IIRC Moore massively diluted the shares anyway, but as said they ended with his demise

Are these worth anything? The Trust will buy them off you mate - they like a good shareholding in anything - they actually have a 3% stake in the current club you know, and it's priceless. Nice. Have a dig at the Trust when the person's dad has just passed away. Classy. And of course stmik has liked it...

Latics and England
Unfortunately the previous posts are correct. I also held shares in Oldham Athletic Football Club Ltd and attended the AGM each year until the company went out of existence following Moore's exit. The new company that was formed is a separate entity to the previous one with new shares.
