  1. We are looking for a mascot for Norwich on Saturday. You must be a Boundary Blues member, not have already been a mascot this season and have a full kit (I will know for def which kit we are playing in tomorrow!). One adult and one child ticket will be provided for you. Please pm me.
  2. I'm not sure about that one, before my time!
  3. Thanks for the idea but we have a kit deal with Carbrini and the ball boys have to wear their kit.
  4. I was thinking if we had sweets to give out too then the kids would come to us at the bottom of each stand!!!
  5. Thanks for all the suggestions, there are a couple of things we are looking at regarding space as it has been a huge problem for us. When we had the lounge, the parents could come and leave the kids whilst they went for a pint in the bar. They knew the kids would be safe, warm and occupied and it really is something we need to have again. As for Chaddy's gang, we are hoping to work more closely together in the future, BB needs to get the kids from Chaddy's gang as soon as they are 6 but there is no harm in getting the kids into Latics at a younger age. My kids have both been coming to the games since they were born, and my 5 year old daughter might not like football but she does enjoy the whole experience of cheering, meeting Chaddy and most importantly having a pie! We also need to make it clear that you can have be a member for £10 without having the season ticket. There is a BB page on the official website, we have our own email address boundary.blues@oldhamathletic.co.uk or you can people can always contact me on here. We try and make ourselves as available as possible, we are always around and about on matchdays but I appreciate some people don't know who we are. We have asked about a leaflet drop in programmes or at turnstiles for games but this is not doable. It might be an option for us to hand out flyers to kids in the stands in the future, would anyone mind us doing that? The only thing is, it could create loads of waste with the kids just throwing them on the floor!!
  6. Boundary Blues is run by a team of volunteers with input from Lois at the club and Colin from the Community Trust. We receive some funding from the club but in return we sponsor a player, we also send out 3 newsletters a year, each member gets a free gift and a birthday card signed by the manager. We organise 2 parties a year, one at Christmas and one at the end of the season, we run away trips at discount prices (for example it was £48 for a member and parent to go to Brighton, coach and match ticket), kids have the chance to be a mascot at home games and selected away games plus the chance to be a ball boy. You get all that for £10. For £50 you get all the above plus a season ticket. You can be a member if you are between 6 and 16 years old. We have lost a lot of income from not having the room we had in the Lookers. This used to provide us with a lot of money and from that we bought new playstations, a football table, board games, a full new kit for the ball boys and a few other things. We are currently losing money on away trips as trips to Bristol and Brighton only half sold yet we still have to pay the full price for a coach. The next away trips we run are to Stockport and Huddersfield so these should sell out. As I say, it is run by 3 volunteers and each of us work full time as well so we need to make sure that the time we spend on Boundary Blues is worthwhile and give the fans of the future the best we can! If we had a dedicated section of OWTB would people use it? We would have to get parents permission to collect email addresses but it is something we have thought about.
  7. We're doing a bit of research on Boundary Blues and what supporters are aware of. How many people here know what you get for being a member, what the benefits are etc? Do you know how much membership is? Are you aware that you can buy a membership without a season ticket and still receive all the benefits of being a member? How can we publicise events more? We use OWTB, official web site, Chronicle, posters in the shop and around the ground but what else can we do? Thanks Lisa
  8. Just a reminder that your children do not have to be a member of Boundary Blues to attend the Christmas Party, any child can come and pay the non-member price!
  9. Just a little reminder that Christmas Party tickets are now available and you will be able to buy them from the club shop before the match tomorrow.
  10. Thanks everyone for replying, now sorted! However, if you want your child to be considered to be for one of the matches for the rest of the season, we will be drawing names out at the Christmas Party.
  11. Well you might as well because nobody else is volunteering!!
  12. If your child or you know a child who is a member of Boundary Blues, has a full current home kit and will be at the game on Saturday please let me know. The mascot can't do it so I need to find a replacement!!!!
  13. Last call for anyone to be mascot at Norwich. Must be a current Boundary Blues member. You need to arrange your own travel but 1 adult and 1 child ticket is provided (you will need to buy any further tickets).
  14. The Boundary Blues Christmas Party is available to book from Tuesday 10th November Monday 14th December 7pm-9pm St Anne's Rugby Club, Higginshaw Lane Members £6, non-members/adults £7.50 Ticket price inlcudes food! Dave Penney and the players will be there on the night taking part in games with the children. Each child will receive a goody bag and will have the chance to collect autographs and have photographs taken with the players. We will be making the draw for the mascots for the remainder of the season. There will also be a raffle with Latics prizes along with face painting and balloon modelling plus Chaddy Owl will be there. Tickets are available from The Latics shop.
  15. Sorry Steve, they've got to be over 6 but under 16 to be a mascot. Can you tell I'm ignoring everything else in this thread?!!
  16. Are you willing to hold hands with Gregan as you runout onto the pitch together?!!
  17. The teeth and his special fruit drink might give it away!!
  18. Unfortunately, Boundary Blues are unable to run an exchange trip with Norwich this season but they have asked us if we would like to have a mascot at the match. If you are a Boundary Blues member and are travelling to Norwich with your parents on 5th December and would like to be considered for the mascot then please let me know. Thanks Lisa
  19. Now, I really don't want to upset everyone here but I managed to get a pie at 3.15pm yesterday and I was sat in the Chaddy End :-)
  20. I agree, any responsible parent can and should be able to take their child to any football match, it's all about being sensible and keeping them away from the trouble. If my 5 year old daughter wants to come then that's fine, I'll take her. I'll never say she might not be able to come because there might be a fight!!
  21. There's still a few places left on the coach if anyone wants to book. :-)
  22. Boundary Blues are running a coach to Brighton, we have been asked the last couple of seasons to run a trip but it's not been possible so we have bowed to pressure this season!!! The coach will depart at 8am on Saturday 24th October from Clayton Arms car park, the cost is £17 for members and £31 for adults, bookings can be made in the club shop. Membership numbers must be provided when bookings are made. Cost is for match tickets and return coach travel.
  23. I'm sure most people are already aware of this but season tickets are non transferrable and are to be used by the person who's name is on the book only. Boundary blues season tickets should also carry photo i.d. which needs to be with the season ticket. Also Lee, in the past you have said you are 17 and are not a member of Boundary Blues.
  24. Just bumping this back up as there's still spaces. Plus, the mascot place if still up for grabs, we will be wearing navy / tangerine and not yellow as first thought! :-)
