  1. Exactly and alot of what the club do couldn't be done without the volunteers. I think some people just don't realise what goes on!!! Well done Lee, you should be very proud!! Hopefully people will appreciate you giving up your time :-)
  2. Never underestimate the capabilities of a female when they want to find something out :-)
  3. Mystery solved! Mods, you can close this now thanks.
  4. Boundary Blues had a mascot at Sheffield Wednesday, Owen Hanson, however, there was also another mascot. Sheffield Wed couldn't give me a name and didn't know who the mascot was, neither do I. Does anyone know who this other little boy was please?
  5. I think the mysterious blue socks will be worn at Rochdale too!
  6. I bought one on Saturday and left it on the side in the tuck shop whilst I was serving, I had 2 kids ask if they could buy it!!! I think they must've sold quite a few on Saturday, I saw a few being bought in the club shop when I was in there too.
  7. Rochdale have very kindly agreed to letting us take a mascot to Spotland on 2nd November. You must have your own tickets for the game and wear the same kit as the team which I think will be white top, blue shorts and blue socks. The mascot must be between 5 and 15, be a member of Boundary Blues and can be accompanied by one adult. Please email me on boundary.blues@gmail.com if you are interested, or contact me through PM on here. The deadline for this is Tuesday 19th October at 8pm. After that time, a name will be picked at random. Thanks!
  8. Only if you are stood outside the pub or the school gates
  9. Of course, if people earn their own money then they can kill themselves with it, that's fine!!!
  10. You didn't offend me, it would take a lot to do that. I agree that some people need child benefit to get by and the truth is that 85% of people who currently receive it, will continue to receive it after 2013. My problem is that the majority of people who complain about getting benefits cut are the ones who wouldn't be able to buy their cigarettes if they didn't receive benefits. I have always said that I would gladly work the night shift in a supermarket to make sure my bills are paid each month rather than go on benefits. I claim what I am entitled to and go out to work for the rest of the money I want when I could easily sit on my arse at home and claim more. Yes I claim child benefit and yes my children will see an NHS doctor or dentist and are educated in a state school, but, that is how this country works!! If my child benefit is cut then I will deal with it, if NHS waiting lists are too long then I will take my children to a private hospital, if they need me to come home from work then I come home. So what if we can't go on holiday abroad after 2013, they like Cornwall anyway!!!!
  11. I don't feel sorry for myself, I am far too busy for that
  12. Exactly, I am such a cow and a bad mother!!!!! They even get a Happy Meal sometimes - how bad is that?!!!
  13. Just seen this posted elsewhere, wondered if anyone would be interested in putting their views forward! The Mirror would like to speak to two mums about child benefit and how the recent announcements will/won't affect them, their opinion etc. They'd like to speak to: One mum who is a stay at home parent whose partner earns £44,000+ who will lose the benefit OR a single mum who herself earns £44,000+ who will lose it AND The mum in a couple who earn up to £86,000 between them who will continue to get child allowance. If you can help please come back to me before 2.15pm today alisonpalmer@oakhouse24.freeserve.co.uk. After that please contact Rebecca Evans before 4pm rebecca.evans@mirror.co.uk but please cc me in the email. Thanks so much. There will be a small thank you payment for any stories used.
  14. I love the fact that I am seen as selfish when in reality it's just a case of people having their own opinion, people don't always agree. I have never claimed claimed JSA, council tax benefit or income support. I went back to work when my daughter was 15 weeks and my son 24 weeks so did not claim my full entitlement to SMP (statutory maternity pay). I made the decision to go back to work even though I would've been better off at home claiming benefits than working. I work full time and do overtime to pay for my children, I am there for school concerts, coffee mornings, assemblies and every appointment my children have ever had which many of the other mums at school do not make, even though they don't have jobs to go to. I also do voluntary work which takes up a lot of my time. Yet I am selfish.
  15. I apologise for taking a while to reply to you but I am at work!
  16. Yes, because I am entitled to it. However, if I was no longer entitled to it then I would still be able to afford to look after my children. We brought them into the world and we will look after them and provide them with what they need. Child benefit is a bonus for us and not a guaranteed income.
  17. Agreed, if you can't afford them, or can't look after them then don't bloody have them in the first place. Also, if you wait for your benefits to go in the bank and then head straight to the shop for cigarettes or to Wetherspoons for breakfast then you should get the benefits taken off you. If you are a stay at home mum, why can't you get off your bottom and do something whilst the kids are in school / nursery?! And don't get me started on tax credits.............................................
  18. Thanks for the suggestions, the kit has now gone to a local kids football club who will get plenty of use out of it. Lisa
  19. We have some kit that the ball boys have used each matchday during last season. The kit was supplied by JD Sports and Carbrini and has no printing refering to Latics on it. It is either very dark blue or black, I can't remember!! We have the following items and sizes size 32 (age 10-11) 2 jackets, 3 pairs of trousers size 33 (age 12-13) 4 jackets, 4 pairs of trousers, 5 coats size 34 (age 13-14) 8 t-shirts, 1 coat, 9 polo shirts small mens 3 jackets, 4 pairs of trousers, 4 t-shirts, 2 coats, 4 polo shirts medium mens 1 jacket, 2 pairs of trouers, 2 t-shirts, 1 coat In total, 59 items. We are looking for suggestions of what we can do with it. The first option would be to sell it but we are mindful that many local youth football clubs will not be rolling in money! Anybody got any ideas? If possible, we would like £80 for it all.
  20. She'll need some more clothes on or she'll catch her death at BP!
  21. We were told that the programme sellers didn't use the room anymore and they didn't have a key. We have also been told that any programmes from this season belong to the printers and so should be going back to them, the programmes from previous seasons can be sold to make some money for BB and Player share. You might have noticed that the room was tidied up quite a bit on Saturday but the only thing we got rid of was empty boxes and crap off the floor so I don't know where your gear for cashing up has gone. As far as we knew, Strike it Lucky use the room 1-2 and we can use it afterwards.
