  1. What is sad is the tired idea that because someone has a different view they're automatically Barry or one or his stooges. If Frank took over the Jan before given the recruitment, no interview etc, I can't see that the outcome would have been different. Once the job was available Unsworth would have got the gig.
  2. Royles wanted Unsworth. Either shez prevailed or Unsworth came in. No matter when the takeover happened.
  3. If it had gone through earlier our managers would have still be Sheridan and Unsworth (if shez went).
  4. We are all ambitious at times in our career. My point was he's not an ambitious target for us. Take away the latics link and people wouldn't be too keen.
  5. Wild is ambitious? Not sure what he's actually achieved really. Seems a decent manager from a far but ambitious? Halifax, still here. Barrow, league two mid table. He's hardly unique. Ambitious for me would be a Cowley or someone with a similar trajectory. All pie in the sky at this point.
  6. The more I think about Askey turning up like some seedy old man while the jobs not vacant the less I like him. I am fully hoping Unsworth turns this round now.
  7. He gives it away at times because he tries things. The other midfielders we have used (not Rooney) either give the ball away, lump it or just pass it back. DG and JR will give the ball away at times but they'll also create far far more than we usually do.
  8. Pace of thought. He doesn't need to check the balls still there before he passes it as he can play. I am worried he'll be out injured again very soon and we are back to square one. Hopefully he's come back 100%.
  9. Another one saying stumbled. He could have put Chapman on, even Timmy wide and brought Rooney in. Instead he put on a lad whose barely played. Lets give him credit. From his interview post match it seems he's had Rooney and Gardner training hard and having to work to get into the side. From what I hear that isn't what Rooney did at his last club. Good signs that he's able to get players showing a good attitude to things. Perhaps why those who have been bombed out have been bombed out.
  10. Play him right back in most games, centre mid with Sheron if Gardner doesn't suit / isn't 100%.
  11. These are all one offs. We've seen many struggle to move from non league to league. Christ, even National North to our shite league. Bar the odd lad who doesn't want to move up job wise most aren't good enough. Look at the Dorking lads. Soon found out once they settled into this division.
  12. For every Vardy there is 100 Danny Rowe's. A lot easier to know where the back of the net is when the lad marking you has been emptying skips all week.
  13. He's been playing with PE teachers and plumbers. Have some respect for Timmy please. He'd look like Ian Wright vs the local butcher every week.
  14. Won't be an issue if half the customers have spent an hour telling you to fuck off beforehand.
  15. Bar the 2 outstanding sides we have players who wouldn't look out of place. Kitchen, Norman, Nutall being the main 3. Hogan was a leading player in the league last season and Rooney has dominanted this league for many years. Hope is better than this level. We've got a good group, just lacking key elements and a manager who has the confidence to go at teams
  16. He needs to go for it. Instill confidence by encouraging them to attack. For me best side for Tuesday is: Norman Shelton Yarney Hogan Kitchen Rooney Chapman Sheron Tollet Timmy Nutall Yes I've including the god awful Tollet but we've no other options wide unless Hope is back.
  17. And in a fully professional league. Worth remembering that.
  18. Scunny may well get the sort of fan / sponsors input we've had all season and the remaining EFL payment. Best they're down a division. See how Fylde go, the wages of all their side will increase no doubt if they get up. May mean they can't spend as much as they usually appear to. Not sure there is much of a funding jump from North to The Premier Binmans.
  19. Want Scunny down, replace them with another Dorking working mens club type. We don't want any big clubs in the league as they tend to have decent spending power.
  20. Slightly higher level of player than our jug eared mard.
