7 subs in FA Cup isn’t it.

Yeah that’ll be it.

Every outfield player is playing terrible , why just single out Shelton?
Because it’s lazy to blame Shelton or Shelton and Sheron.
Kitching, Sutton, Hobson, Lundstram, Hogan all worse than Shelton tonight IMO.

Past a third of the season gone now. I guess just on league positions we are one of the big under-performers but who has done significantly better/worse than might have been expected?
Outperforming for me could be Gateshead and Halifax, maybe Aldershot, while Dorking being comfortably mid-table has to be a decent effort. Ignoring the points deduction, Southend would be 4th which is some effort for a club that was very much on the brink .
Don't think the bottom four holds many surprises but I doubt that York and Boreham Wood expected to be just above the line
Would’ve expected Woking to be nearer the top as well as Boreham Wood.
Be interesting to see how Gateshead do without Williamson.

Regarding the match itself, Sheron, Hope, Hogan we’re the standouts for me. Sheron allowed to push further forward harassing the opposition in possession with McGahey protecting. Hope ran his nuts off and was an outlet going forward, great goal too.
The defending of set prices was statuesque at times though, work to be done.- 1

This year's stand out is Alfie Atherton, he will go even higher IMO.
Shame our youth hardly get a chance to establish themselves here before being sold to EFL clubs.

Very disappointing second half. Maidenhead could easily have won on their second half performance.
Our passing game is still very poor.
I thought Sutton played well in the first half. It was interesting to see Norwood dropping back on two occasions to talk with Hogan and Hudson-probably to tell them where he wants the ball to be played.
The subs made no impact and as a few have said Fondop would have been a much better support for Norwood if he had been on the bench. Felt Nuttall offered nothing.
Still, we are in a much better place than a few weeks ago.
I was surprised Willoughby didn’t come on for Reid. Certainly would’ve offered more energy going forward when the team looked gassed.

He’s not good enough for a central midfielder. That’s my opinion but considering we have barley controlled a game of football with him being ever present in central midfield, I would say I’m being proven correct.
He runs, he’s always fit and available. He puts in a challenge, but that’s it. Often he wins it and passes it to the opposition. Pointless and doubles his work for himself, which he then runs around and gets applauded for.
I think you’re right. In a midfield 2 he’s not good enough for a supposed promotion seeking team. In a 3 he’d do an adequate job of protecting the defence with Lundstram, plus a.n other playing further forward.

Still very disappointed with last night, but the reality is we are 2 points from playoffs and had we won, we would have been 7th.
We need to win the D&R game and then we need to make a decision either way in the manager situation. We need some players shifting and at least 2 more in.
Lundstram looks a player. The way he controls it and can actually pass. Only 70mins but he is technically very good for us. Just need to get rid of the donkey next to him now.
Well that ain’t gonna happen after giving the “donkey” as you describe him a contract extension a few days ago.

Some people’s expectations for us to pummel teams most weeks in this league aren’t realistic.
We’re now a National League club with National League players, bar 3, maybe 4 players.

Dickinson next to Sheron.
With tollit on the left.
Maybe in a 3 like at Kidderminster, but not in a 2 in my opinion.

That is the one thing that worries me about Tommo. Why does he start Shelton again? He has seen the same as us. Shelton and Sheron cannot be together. Again and again the Oldham performance has been terrible with those two. Sheron had done well when with someone else.
I get it that there is not much choice, but try something different! Shelton has to be a last resort!Out of interest, who would you have put in central midfield alongside Sheron, bearing in mind Lundstram has just come back from a 2 month injury?

Slow closing down players in midfield. Their left winger is tearing Sutton apart. Lundstram and Norwood need to come on asap so we can get our foot on the ball and keep possession longer.

Heard no booing for Shelton, just encouragement from my position.
I was stood on the right hand side as you look onto the pitch and could hear it coming from the middle/left when he came on to replace Gardner.

Absolutely buzzing with that result last night.
We need to sort this CM issue with Gardner now injured. Sheron and Shelton cannot play together and I think Tommo knows that, which caused the changed in shape and Dickinson coming into the middle.
No idea how far off Lundstram is, but if he’s not available next week we need to go out and get a new CM.
I think we should try Shelton at rb, it is clearly obvious he cannot play CM. A broken Gardner is far superior than him. Shelton is embarrassingly bad.
I agree central midfield is an issue if Gardner and Lundstram aren’t available. Sheron proves his worth in there, but Shelton looks laboured as well as giving the ball away far too much. There must be a player in there somewhere, he was well thought of playing at a higher level.
Booing of Shelton again last night when he came on shows what deadheads we have in our fan base. Noticed Sheron signalled to the crowd with sarcasm in response.

I think that’ll be the team. Newport game we were pedestrian, so Reid gives us some pace. I can’t see McGahey in a midfield two, too immobile. McGahey has to either play in a back four, or in front of the back four in away games.
