Kelvin Mellor linked to us on twitter. Defender from Crewe. Can’t say i’ve heard of him, but he’s been at a fair few league clubs all his career and seems to have played the majority of games.
One of their better players this season according to an Alex supporting friend. A steady Eddie who gives a 7 out of 10 performance most games.

Likewise. Looking forward to this one.

That's a good day out.
Indeed. Thatch & Thistle is the better pub near the ground (5 min walk away), and there’s the Richmond as well (10 min walk away).

Southend have been served another winding-up petition by HMRC. They’re due to appear in the High Court on the 17th May.

I thought Yarney had already agreed an extension until the end of next season.

Is Willoughby proven at this level?
According to transfermarkt he’s had 1 season in the National League in 2019/20, scoring 2 in 19 appearances for AFC Fylde.

No, I said before the match I'd have dropped Nuttall and Chapman, so I'm taking the credit.
Wasn’t funny the first time you said it, nevermind the 9th.

But have experience of getting teams out of the Vauxhall Conference...
Indeed. However, no more ambitious than Pete Wild.

Unfortunately neither are realistic targets…
Matt Gray, born in London and spent his whole life south of Watford - managing Sutton United and would probably only move to a southern based club
Simon Weaver, has been at Harrogate for yonks (since 2009) and his dad is chairman…
Added to that, they’re both below Pete Wild’s Barrow in the table.

Chapman and Shelton have no drive, hence the previous pedestrian midfield performances. At least when Gardner is fit he shows zest and ups the tempo.
He makes mistakes, but we have previously had players frightened of making mistakes - leaving us with a negative team.
Gardner and Rooney changed that last night for the better.
I get you don't like Gardner and relish posting his faults, but praise for changing the game last night should be acknowledged.
Not sure that’s right about Shelton having no drive. He’s a box to box midfielder, or at least was under his previous managers.

Tollit has been poor for a while. If all fit I’d consider a midfield 3 of Sheron (nailed on), Shelton and Gardner, with Rooney either on the left again or behind Nuttall and Reid.

Mitchell Roberts has gone on loan to Solihull Moors for the remainder of the season.

Alfie McCalmont gone to Carlisle on loan for rest of the season.

How many times do people need telling Carragher is injured and been back at Wigan for weeks
Cool your jets fella. I know he’s back at Wigan, hence the “looked very promising” line.

Think Okagbue has been quite unlucky, not crabbing the decision to bring back Clarke but he's had less mistakes in him than any other centre half we've used this season, good range of passing as well. Him and Sutton would definitely be two for the future.
Yeah he’s a tidy player. Carragher as well looked very promising, though would prefer either of them playing alongside Hogan or Clarke in a back 4 rather than together.

Give Peter Clarke a rest on Saturday and play the Stoke lad. Other than that, keep the same team as last game and try and build a bit of confidence with another win going into the Gateshead game.

I wouldn’t go overboard over games that are nothing more than a kickabout. One thing that is apparent though is our lack of any real pace all over the pitch. Hopefully this will be addressed with a few young and hungry loanees.

Jamie Stott just signed for Halifax.

I’d imagine Gardner and/or Rooney are included in the 4 or 5 we’re trying to offload.
