  1. Me too. What everyone wants to spend their hard earned on is absolutely their business. But one thing that no-one has really mentioned on here is that it’s not hugely more than you pay normally elsewhere away from home (call it £20+ on average) and for that extra £7 you get to visit a far better stadium, probably watch a far better game of football because they are one of the best teams we’ll play this year… and possibly watch us win at elland road for the 2nd time in 8 months – you cannot put a price on the joy of smugly walking past all those yoksher muppets again. Splendid If we don’t sell our allocation at Leeds it will be simply embarrassing. But really the issue is, why would anyone want to miss this?! Next year the highlight of the season could be going to :censored:e places like Spotland for all we know. And after last night’s utter boredom, £15 would seem a bit steep.
  2. ‘’Subs are going to play a big part this season, I’ll be using lots of subs. I’ve got very good players on the bench so whether we’re winning I’ll be bringing lads on, to push those players on the pitch’’ completely agree with that, so much better having good players who can change games from the bench. Not sure about Corney suggesting Alessandra might go out on loan though!!
  3. for the 1st time in nearly a decade i recieved a piece of direct mail marketing in the post from latics 2 weeks ago. It told me how much i'd save game by game in the RRE and i swiftly bought an ST. More SIMPLE marketing like this needed from TTA, sometimes football clubs can make it much easier for themselves...!
  4. Through your own insurance company, or through the club?
  5. Apparently not, I even said that this would seriously affect whether or not I buy one (in truth, it probably wont affect anything!) and she said they never replace them. Sometimes I think they’re a bit unhelpful in that ticket office for no apparent reason… but either way, I’d like to know if anyone’s had their’s replaced after losing it (drunk or otherwise).
  6. Call me pathetic but is it not a bit backward that we don’t have an electronic season ticketing system yet? I’ve not had a season ticket for a few years but fancied it again next season… However, having just found out that they do not replace season tickets if you lose them, I’m slightly put off because I lose everything valuable… it’s like walking round with a £350 watch, i just wouldnt do it for fear of losing it when drunk. Although I guess there’s less people wanting to mug you for it! Anyone ever lost their's?
  7. i absolutely hate these 'my mate who knows him said' type posts, however. a lad i work with IS mates with him and told me this was on the cards in January. not someone we'll miss massively, IF replaced. And like already mentioned, it's good he's done it so soon.
  8. Have to say, totally agree with this. I left the ground feeling cheated, depressed and very frustrated about the lack of effort and general standard of our play last night (and did so on Saturday, despite the 3-0 scoreline!). But how anyone can shout abuse at a player who has been in an Oldham shirt for 5 minutes and who hadn’t even trained with the team before, is beyond me. The ironic cheers when the (unfit, in-need-of-matches, 26 goals last season) loanee ‘’finally’’ won a header, was disgraceful. No wonder we can’t attract decent strikers if that is the way we treat new players at the club. At least give him til the end of 90 minutes on Saturday, eh.
  9. Only ever drove to port vale in the past but am wihtout wheels. Anyone know how easy it is by train? Fingers crossed we break that duck... if we stay on a good run we might give tranmere a stuffing on March 8th at BP.
  10. Exactly. If he was scoring 20 goals a season, alongside that pace, then he'd be in the premier league or at a good championship side. Look at Jermaine Johnson at Wednesday, he's tearing people apart now AND his final ball is great - he couldnt hit a barn door at boundary park but i would have loved to us see him stay and work at his game WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE CROWD. That's all Davies needs.
  11. You can’t blame him directly for either, is my point. And you certainly can’t justify calling him ‘’a joke’’ or ‘’a disgrace’’ which is what this lad outside the ground was doing. He had two defenders on him all game, for a reason - because he is a major threat. As soon as he went off, they didn’t need to double up on him anymore and then Brighton got back into the game. I’m not directly attributing this to him getting substituted but it certainly didn’t seem to help matters as the ball just kept coming back to us… before that, davies was winning a lot of headers, despite not making much use of the balls on the floor. I just think it’s astonishing how quickly people forget quality and how short sighted Oldham fans can be sometimes. Anyway, let’s just hope we sign a striker and someone who can pass a ball to him, by the time we have to play at not-so-fortress boundary park in two weeks!
  12. How people can blame Craig Davies for us not winning that game is a joke, he wasn’t on the pitch when they scored. I nearly throttled a lad outside blaming it all on Davies… it’s just stupidity. Granted, he sulks and this needs to be sorted out pronto if he’s going to stay at the club and make a success of himself. But I think people are quick to forget the Craig Davies at the start of the season who bagged almost ALL of our goals and looked like one of the most exciting attacking prospects we’ve had at the club for about 10 years. He was tearing teams apart week in, week out and now he’s gone off the boil a bit and he’s public enemy number one, getting blamed for us not winning games when he was off the pitch when an equalizer went in! As for Wolfenden, just not enough of a threat I’m afraid. No point putting a small striker on when your one-nil up and need to hold the ball up better. Totally agree with someone else’s post about sending him out on loan. If the kid needs games/experience/confidence let him do it for someone in league two rather than chucking him on in pressure situations for us.
  13. It’s a moral quagmire and the debate could go on all year. Despite that, I wish him luck and am intrigued as to whether he’ll find form again. Whatever happens, one thing does bother me about that press release on the bbc website. Why the hell hasn’t that person received compensation from the incident?!
  14. Afternoon all... Name? Tom Location? Manchester How Long Supporting the Tics? 20 years Best away match you've been to? QPR play off semi, despite the result All Time Greatest Player? Gunnar Halle Biggest Rivals (in your eyes)? Not liking Tranmere much at the moment.
