  1. He wasn't an u9 coach though, And while I agree he is not at TPs level, he is no where near the level of Simon or Peter (not a dig). Neither of them have had a professional playing career as far as I know and niether of them has the Pro License which however you want to degrade it IS a big thing in todays modern game.
  2. Depends what experience you are talking about, as they all arguably had more experience an pro football, but Kelly has alot more coaching experience than most of them had when they were appointed. He must cringe when he is described as an u9 coach, sounds like a bleedin kids local park soccer school! He was a Youth Phase Development coach that worked with all ages up to u16's, (however at York he 'assisted' with the u9s).
  3. He's not an IRA sympathiser. You have taken ONE word he tweeted that could have meant something completely different.
  4. I dont get why people keep saying he has no connections, to get the Uefa 'a' license takes two years, and the Pro License takes another 18 months. You are on the course with the same 'students' throughout, most of these coaches are either top well known names or coches and academy coches at EPL anf FL clubs. He would have struck up quite a few contacts over that time.
  5. He's also retweeting an Ex British Army coach, good friends by the looks of it.
  6. Appointing him is a risk, but appointing Holden as his assistant greatly increases the risk. However we are club that has to take risks until we can push the boat out and attract a 'less risky' manager.
  7. So which of our previous managers who had prvious experience did well? How do you no he has no connections? Poor playing career means bugger all. Badges aren't difficult? No they aren't if you are a good coach, to even get on the Pro License you have to be invited. He is not some sunday pub team manager, yes he lacks the experience at this level but so have coutless others who have gone on to do well. Like i've already said, he could turn out to be :censored:, but so could Dowie.
  8. I clicked yes. Why? Because the question was, are you in favour of DK being appointed? It doesn't mean he was my first choice, but i'm willing to give him a chance. Gaining your Pro License is no mean feat, especially with him being an 'unknown' name. Now he could turn out to be :censored:, but equally could be a great find, but its the same risk with any appointment.
  9. From said message board "I overheard simon in there on his phone saying and i quote ' i see ya sunday dowie make sure you wear a suit for the big announcment."
  10. Sounds good, do we know how many of these are available?
  11. Great post. I took up the whistle because I had that menatlity of 'surely it cant be that hard' so put my money where my mouth is and did the course. Needless to say its very rare now that I have anything bad to say about officials.
  12. It is a fake account they have just admitted it.
  13. Quote from Cotterill confirm separate deals: “We left on good terms and it worked out perfectly really, as we were already talking to Oldham about the Korey Smith deal. Although they are completely separate transfers, things like this seem to happen for a reason in football and Liam’s got a good move."
  14. Kelly gone to oldham as part of the deal,Stockhausen says undisclosed fee. Kelly gone to Oldham for undisclosed fee ,seperate deal to Corey Smith. Cant be both, or am i missing something?
  15. from footballforums: Liam Kelly is a very gifted player who is very good technically and covers a lot of ground. My only problem is lack of goals..... sounding like a like-for-like swap although we probably gave you some cash. Liam had a bad injury and we've been waiting for him to get a look in since. Capable at Championship level so at our level I think he'll be a decent enough signing for you. I always rated LJ in midfield (unlike many City fans) and I would say he knows how to spot a decent midfield player. A good move for both players and both clubs I would say. New start will give them both fresh impetus.
  16. I had to constantly pause and rewind, but it is definately outside the box, great decision.
  17. Good luck to him, can't believe he is getting some stick on twitter.
  18. Exactly, Volunteer or not he doesn't offer anything to the commentary.
  19. I'm with the OP on this, Bias is expected, but Roy takes it to a different level and ruins it. Not only that but he is clueless to the laws of the game, but constantly has a go at the referee without knowing why! I end up tuning into the away commentary because it is nearly ALWAYS better. Im paying for a service so i have the right to moan!
  20. I'm relatively new to area and don't venture into Swindon much. So i'm afraid i probably have just as much knowledge as you and other 'tics. Sorry.
  21. I'll be there with the wife and kids, live just outside Swindon so no excuse! Where is everyone going for a beer?
