If there was a vision and a plan to move forward yes. If they continued with the 'you've never had it so good and be grateful you've got a club rhetoric, no.
As I've said all along give me hope and I'll put up with most things...
Its why I stopped going... Once you lose hope its the end of the road....
-
A factor in renewing is if you have good seats or not. I've one of the best in the stadium so I'd be reluctant to let it go now matter what division.
That is an interesting view point I have never heard expressed at Boundary Park

League games:
Man Utd 28 Dec 1974 26,356
Bolton 26 Dec 1975 25,137
WBA 24 Apr 1976 22,356
Bolton 18 Feb 1978 20,810
Man City 20 Apr 1984 20,320
FA Cup:
Burnley 26 Jan 1974 22,350
The last 20k+ home gates I think.
So it was around 32 year ago... That is a VERY long time ago We once got something like 46,000+ at Boundary Park "not many moons ago" on that basis then 1930
I am not really sure what it matters what a club was once like. All that matters is what that club is like today.
My little family club has gone from disaster to disaster, signed a player who killed behind the wheel, tried to sign at the time a convicted rapist and looks nothing like the club I fell in love with 30 years ago.
I would rather be a Rochdale fan... I would imagine the average Rochdale Fan has more to hold their head up high about than the average Oldham fan these days. We are largely despised throughout the game given the barrel scraping we have been doing over the last couple of years. We have sat back and allowed the club to be ruined by TTA. Anything we had of value has been sold off. The only thing left is the name and the registration of a ton of loan players.
Today we sit 24 out of 24 in League One... and we still think we are better than Rochdale... please people just please....
-
Don't think we have in my lifetime have we?Where did i mention averages then? We did attract crowds if around 20,000 it's not a myth.
I think we had around 19,000 for the League Cup Semi Final in 1990, very much a one off.... Arsenal we only pulled in 14,000 on the same cup run... So you are going back at least 26 years...
I think I remember a 18,000 gate against United around 1991? We had less than 19,000 when we got promoted to the top flight against Wednesday. We got over 18,000 against City as well. And there was a hell of a lot of City and United fans in the home ends.
20,000 ? Not in my lifetime I don't think...

Our average attendance in the Premiership was 15,000 or so... Nowhere near 20,000Why are we now comparing ourselves to Rochdale? A few years ago you'd be laughed out of town making such a comment, they have no history other than being :censored:e and have never really attracted crowds of around 20,000 like we did not too many moons ago, relatively they are doing alright whilst we continue to slide into the abyss comparing ourselves to all the tinpot clubs that seem to be passing us by.

That's spot on. No tacking allowed, making it into a no contact sport. Cheating players who are expected to do anything to get a penalty, free kick or get another player sent off. All teams playing, or trying to play the same football, from non league to international. One or two touch football, pressing, and don't whatever you do run with the ball at a packed defence. Try and keep possession of the ball by passing it backwards and sideways.
Yeah you are right.... Its hardly like the game gets sold for billions in TV rights.... In total decline the sport is... Corney is such a victim... Poor guy...
-
Whoever is manager means very little until the rest of the club structure is sorted out... Look at Sheridan... Just goes to show even if someone starts to get it right they will be out of the door given the first chance to go to a club with any sort of ambition. Changing the manager is pointless. You should be concentrating on getting new owners. But that should of been the aim six years ago but people wanted to pretend it was all good
-
It's not one or the other. Going to latics is something I choose to do. I do it for me. I'm not about to change that because of what Corney says or does to the club.
The day I stop going is the day Corney has officially ruined the club. It's not a business. It's my club. Not corneys
Its a business and its Corneys... It never helps to ignore the facts...
-
Average joe vs media experienced business man....
Its simply an invitation to fail...
-
And Corney's divide and conquer approach shows signs of success.

Loving that video "It's not all bad"

That was until 2015 when we just started to unravel.
We unravelled WAY earlier than that...
-
Surely it's still upto TTA which offer they'd accept though?
That is correct.

I think he is extremely lucky to be walking away today without a conviction. Just goes to show how difficult these trials are.
Still glad we didn't sign him. Disgusting human being that he is.

Unless the defence have some outstanding piece of evidence to challenge the above then I don't see how he isn't found guilty for a second time. The night receptionist is pretty much confirming, and he is about the only independent witness in all this, that she was way too drunk to give consent by the time Ched turns up.
Either way he is a filthy disgusting person. How anyone wants to sing his name about the weekend is beyond me.

Does the Trust have a fighting fund accumulating?

posting negativity on here wont help that so...
'Just out of interest, if you don't love the club any more, and haven't been to a game for six or seven years, what motivates you to post here?'
You say negativity... I call it the truth as I see it...
Ignoring the truth won't help anything improve...
-
Just out of interest, if you don't love the club any more, and haven't been to a game for six or seven years, what motivates you to post here?
I can only presume you didn't read everything I wrote...
and it doesn't stop me hoping one day I can rediscover my love for the club...

Not a chance you ever have fun
I had fun when Pointon scored... and boy have I been paying for it ever since
I remember that being the last time I ever had fun...
-
look who's back!
What were you waiting for, Latics to hit bottom of the league.
I didn't have to wait long did I....
-
Lovely stuff.
Just playing a silly boy at his own game. I am just better at it than you.
-
Probably many reasons, people prefer watching a winning team and it being too expensive would be the biggest.
Wrong again.... You really don't get it do you...
The concept of Latics fans being the types who only turn up if the team is winning is frankly laughable.... Even the so called 3-4000 (you must be going back quite some time as I don't remember the last time we regularly had 6,000 to 7,000 home fans turning up each week) that have drifted away....
Its hope, not winning, that is the key element if people keep coming and paying into the club or not. No hope = no fans.
-
Why have they fallen away?
He doesn't know but its all their own fault that they did...
-
"The big bad owner sold the car park, I'm not going anymore"
Keep enjoying life on that high horse of yours buddy, I hear the air is good up there.
Its a dam sight cheaper and more fun than doing what you are doing....
Who's renewing for 2017/18?
