  1. Very true, Mendy is a quality centre back with excellent distribution, he was considered a transfer target along with James Berry, but DU didn't follow up.
  2. Best prospect I've seen in years, has all the attributes and tremendous passion. https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/teams/YouthTeam/midfielder/alfie-atherton/
  3. Didn't that happen to Portsmouth when in the Premiership with disastrous repercussions?
  4. It appears he resents fans opinions and digs in even further. He thinks fans know nothing yet many know exactly what the problems are. I don't like his repeated failure selections, square pegs or the style of non football his team dish out and not giving talented youth a chance. Part time Wealdstone out played and outrun us yesterday and the passing and passion was a joy to watch. Their young manager was also vibrant and encouraging his team, totally opposite from ours who forever has his hands in his pockets. If you are reading this Mr Mellon you are well paid to produce a successful and entertaining football team while we fans pay good money for you to do it. Bear that in mind please.
  5. Plenty of nonsense in selecting repeatedly failed players during this poor run.
  6. Another who'd take no nonsense is Clint Hill, now assistant manger at promoted Stockport County. A step up to manage his old club might appeal.
  7. I'd insist they play against us, we might have a chance of winning then.
  8. He sprayed plenty to central midfield and to the wide men. I don't think one went astray. Compare that with our back 4s dire distribution.
  9. He's a future manager, let's snap him up now while he still plays so well. Do player managers still exist?
  10. I must be getting really disillusioned, I enjoyed watching Britain's Got Talent tonight far more than Oldham Athletic Have No Talent this afternoon.
  11. Thought so, we need to sign talented part time players then rather than our so called full time professional footballers with none.
  12. He was outstanding, not seen a centre back pass a ball as good as him at this level. It looks like he came into football very late, had he done earlier as a teenager he could have played at a very high level.
  13. Yes, very poor to shoot down the interviewer. Blamed everyone but himself saying his task was impossible.
  14. So what does Brabin do? I suggested Chuka as the coach not Murray who would take on a managerial role.
  15. No we haven't it was a one off suggestion for the Altrincham Cup tie which we won. It was MM who continued it when McGahey was sussed out.
  16. What a miserable post match interview, the players were knackered today he said (why did he start them and why weren't Wealdstone?). Blaming, players out of position (why didn't he address that in the January transfer window?) Blaming the fans, and even had a go at the interviewer for asking him what went wrong in the last few months (played a lot of top teams he said and didn't lose many). When asked about next season indicated nothing much can change due to contracts. So looks like the same as, which is really depressing.
  17. Ask any of the youth about Chuka, they think he's great. A really warm infectious personality. Winning the dressing room is half the battle in football.
  18. That's why I mentioned in house. We did it with Pete Wild from the youth set up.
  19. As I've mentioned promote Paul Murray and charismatic youth team coach Chuka Akuneto. The youth team was poor before they took over, but since they've encouraged good passing attacking football with some of the best young prospects I've seen in years. https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2023/july/14072023-chukwuma-akuneto/
  20. The 3 previous games without him showed his replacements were nowhere near as effective.
