  1. This team beat Everton. This team beat Leeds. This team beat Yeovil on Saturday. there is nothing stopping this bunch of talented youngsters, intermingled with a sprinkle of experience, going on a run and getting into the playoffs. If it happens I will be delighted. If it doesn't, as long as they tried. I'll also be delighted. Glass half full Guys....
  2. I like Warney but we all seem to be forgetting how knackered he looked over the last ten games of last season. He wasn't the only one but appeared to suffer more than most. I remember commenting to a mate how the season appeared to be about six games too long for us last year.
  3. So Sorry Rummy. I'll stand in the corner until I calm down . Honest
  4. Aaaah JP the parry and reposte of your rapier wit. Now I know why I went to university all those years.... ...Do you even understand half of what I say?
  5. Their lies your problem JP. You seem to think that because tactics and such like are discussed here on the message board for Latics Fans. We must be having a go at Sheridan. That is just not so. We are discussing the game we love. You are the one who's blood pressure gets all elevated. I don't share your enthusiasm for Sheridan and Wright. That is my right. To post personal insults against the employees of McDonalds doesn't help your argument. All it does is devalue any point you make. So there. Na Na na Nahh Na.....
  6. A good player does not a good manager or coach make. Just look at Brian Robson. You really have a problem with others having a viewpoint don't you. It is our club and many of us have a few years of watching the beautiful game. Long enough to be able to recognise some of the finer aspects of its tactics, player use etc etc. But hey never mind. You just post insults. Particularly to people working in McDonalds which is an honest occupation at least. Off you go now JP Insult away!!!!!!!
  7. Seeing as how everything at BP is currently rosy. Are you all willing to admit to your little superstitions which you have on match day. Mine is my Neil Redfearn Tee which I have worn everytime we have won. I won't let the wife wash it until we get beat whilst I'm wearing it. Stay upwind People!!! Whats yours?
  8. Its all right Rocky. You can come to the games. It's my Neil Redfearn Tee thats brought the change of fortune at home. When I wear it we win, simple. I havn't let the wife wash it so if you do come don't sit downwind of me in the MS
  9. You can never go back. The ovation he got when he came on was magnificent... and the booing he got on his first touch was hilarious. Typical Latics.....
  10. Kept us in Yesterdays game with a fine save just before half time. Marshalled the defence well. Did all you could ask of him. Well played MC
  11. I thought there was a subtle change of formation anyway. It looked for the first 20 that we were playing three across the back. Hazell, Stam and Eards. Livermore pushed on higher up the pitch. We seemed to revert to the usual after the first goal. I cannot for the life of me understand why the club gave Lomax a three year contract to leave him sat on the bench. I know he's a young lad learning his trade but he hasn't let us down on the pitch. He must be somewhat frustrated. Livermore playing on the left hand side of midfield with Taylor pushed up alongside Davies would be my suggestion, at least until Hughes is fit. Taylor scored his goal from the right hand side last week so thats were I suggest he should be playing.
  12. Fantastic post. How long did it take to do that??? This is the best post ever. !!!!!
  13. It would appear that Sheridan doesn't have the same opinion as you. He thinks the playoffs are a possibility. If this is the case then he would be right to bring players to the club to lend a hand. I personally believe we have a squad of players not only capable of achieving promotion but also of staying in the Championship with one or two additions. All we need is the right leadership.
  14. Fancy us to win tomorow as well. yeovil like to play football if my memory serves. We like playing agin teams like that!!!
  15. The council only allocated Royton & Crompton for my daughter. A good friends daughter had to sit out the first year so that other Kids could catch her up. She had attended Buckstones Primery. I have no knowledge of R & C's standing other than what i have heard. It came down to there, or going to church to get her onto Crompton House. Not being a complete hypocrite as an agnostic I couldn't take the latter route so we decided to move 16 miles to Calderdale. a small authority. Calder High is as good if not better then the reports I received about both Bluecoat and Crompton House and it's results (Even though I despise league tables) are comparable. I got my Son into North Chadderton upon appeal from Shaw so that could be an option if you live over that end of town. Hope this helps.
  16. Do you really, honestly, truthfully believe that the length of time spent on the bus contributed to the losing of that game?
  17. Seems like you're a bit of a mind reader but not a very good one friend. I love the Latics and have done so since i was knee high to a grass hopper some 46 years ago. The difference between me and our current management is that they can move on when the day comes. In the meantime thay do not appear to be up to the job IMO. Can you also point out to me where I have intimated that I hate what the club are doing. It just appears that if you place yourself outside the majority of posters on here then your view is invalid. I do not deny we are missing some players but it would help if our Management team would play the players we've got in their most effective positions. If they had a plan B and if they could encourage the lads on the pitch when they play occasionally. I certainly spend 90 odd minutes encouraging my team every time I get there. Like some one else said on here... opinions are like assholes, we've each got one.
  18. Now your trying to blame the loss on the fact that players were stuck on a bus. If that is not P**s poor planning before a game then what is?????
  19. We have the players to get us to the playoffs. whether or not we have the tactics, heart or determination to get there is another matter. Two welsh internationals. A prolific goalscorer in the championship. Solid defence. Championship midfield players. You have to ask, where is it going wrong? I think the line between success and mediocrity in this league is a very fine one. I have yet to see a plan B when plan A hasn't worked. It's the back room in my opinion.
  20. I have to say that I left Oldham because of many reasons. The main one was that we couldn't get our child into the school of our choice. My second reason was that I saw a town which seemed to lack any sense of history or pride in its buildings and facilities. The Tommyfield market is known throughout the world and once gave Oldham true notoriety. Look at it now. The council seems to be hell bent on killing both local and national enterprise. The local comprehensive here in Halifax is as good if not better than the best school in Oldham. Including Crompton House and Bluecoat... Thats got to be down to the council.
  21. And thats what I was trying to say as well...... Please see the first post on this thread!!!
