  1. The route has been planned by myself using 'Paragon' vehicle scheduling software. This works on proven average road speeds for each different class of roads. I have planned in a percentage speed increase to take into account the amount of night driving involved, with a percentage decrease for 'rush hours'. Without being able to do a proving run this is out of necessity a best guess and a little local knowledge is always helpful for refining the detail (I can definitely see the sense in rudemedic's Hereford to Swansea suggestion for example). Hopefully I will be able to do another run through Paragon closer to the time taking into account such suggestions. However, I only have limited access to the Paragon dongle so I can't guarantee being able to do this. I admit it seems strange in that it heads north only to head south again and this was a concern when I initially saw the route. However in order to take in MK/Northampton as well as Norwich/Ipswich/Colchester/Southend it is necessary to 'double back' one way or another. As such I can see the logic in the result. I also like the fact that if all goes to plan the lads will be heading across London in the middle of Sunday night. This is obviously excellent with regards to beating the traffic. However my money is on Millwall shortly after midnight being the quickest stop of the journey!!!! In my experience Paragon broadly comes up with a decent result, although I'm sure there will be plenty of 'swings and roundabouts' along the route.
  2. “Well, I think you could retire when you die. I don't, however, believe in death, so I guess I will retire when I leave my body. But I plan to continue writing and performing in heaven” Sky Sunlight Saxon March 2009
  3. Very sad news. The Seeds were a great band. Most will probably now know them for "Can't seem to make you mine", the music in the current Lynx commercial. Had a ticket to see them a few years ago but it was cancelled - gutted. Pushin' too hard is one of my favourite ever songs, always play it when I DJ. RIP Sky
  4. Tickets now booked for Nottingham in November. Coverage of the Glastonbury performance will be on one of the BBC digital channels at 9pm on Friday.
  5. Diego, if you are watching the Under 21s in The Dog on Friday you could mention it to the Burton Mail reporter who is sure to be in there? It might make a good story as it is the first time Albion will have been included in such a journey.
  6. I suspect quite a few grounds visited on the Saturday will be hosting fixtures - perhaps a photo on the pitch could be arrange at one or more ground. I know Burton Albion are at home to Forest in a friendly on the Saturday afternoon.
  7. The world's worst touts - touting at an event that never sells out for which tickets have been on sale at minimal cost and are still available on the night - and coming back five years running
  8. King Prawns in a chilli, garlic and tomato sauce: Thinly Slice a red chilli (removing seeds for less heat if preferred) Thinly Slice or crush a clove of garlic Slice a red pepper Add both to a frying pan containing olive oil, fry for a minute or so. Add king prawns and red pepper, fry for a few minutes Add a tin of chopped tomatoes, heat through Serve with pasta with a little cheese grated on top. Couldn't be easier!
  9. I think Burton Albion may be televised - away to Reading
  10. Herb crusted fish: Piece of white fish (cod, haddock etc) Breadcrumbs Lemon juice Chopped Fresh Parsley Butter Mix Breadcrumbs, lemon juice, Parsley and butter together Slap on top of the fish Whack it in the oven for 20-25 mins. Alternatively you can use salmon with dill instead of parsley Serve with a big dollop of mash and green beans tossed with fried onions, parsley, butter and chopped garlic. Done!
  11. I wonder if the Trust or the club could get involved to buy the memorabilia - it is a record of a period in the history of the club after all.
  12. And Latics teams of various levels at: Hednesford The Cliff (ManUre training ground) Newcastle Town Alfreton Town Hinckley United Stalybridge Celtic Ancona Genoa Chasetown Clyde Stranraer Stirling Albion Castletown IoM King's Lynn Leigh RMI Minehead NSC, Douglas IoM Douglas Bowl, IoM Peel IoM Ramsey IoM Wembley I bet there's a few you could add to that Diego
  13. Just had to knock 2 off my 'Current League grounds' total due to Rotherham not being at Millmoor (I forgot!) and Cardiff not being at Ninian Park. Do any other League clubs have a move planned?
  14. I must admit my definition of 'grounds' in the 138 total is a bit lax. It includes the following: Bass Meadows - Burton v Forest in the Bass Charity Vase Peel Croft, home of Burton Rugby Club - Wolves (featuring a young Stan Collymore) in the same competition Marstons Sports Ground - Marstons Brewery v Wrexham (featuring Joey Jones) in a friendly Also includes Parkhead, Easter Road, Nou Camp, Bognor Regis Town, Gresley Rovers, Dundalk, Shelbourne
  15. 72 Current League Grounds (71 watching Latics, the other being the Pirelli) 84 Current League Clubs (all watching Latics) 123 different grounds watching Latics (Yes, I'm counting friendlies and Reserves/Youth matches) 138 Grounds in total. Will add Exeter, Southampton and Charlton to my current League Grounds next season. Went to the Dell so will only add 2 to my total of League clubs. Reason for Edit: Can't count! Reason for Edit 2: Forgot Rotherham aren't at Millmoor any more! Reason for Edit 3: Forgot Cardiff aren't at Ninian Park any more!
  16. I think they produce a few for sale on the day. Sold out in no time last year I believe
  17. Morally speaking, they will always be better than MK Dons.
  18. Four more sleeps to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Straight to The Dog after work for me then Dale. Thanks for that - I wouldn't have known about it otherwise
  20. Just noticed Mrs Sideburns is being used on the promotional posters for Friday Albion fishul
  21. Come on you Brewers! It's only work that's stopping me going to Kidderminster today. Secretly hoping that nothing is decided until Friday, when I can make it to the Oxford match.
  22. At least if Joe doesn't stay on for next season he'll be entitled to an OAP ticket when he does visit BP.
  23. I trust we'll be seeing a televised Zigga Zagga?
