  1. Have you seen the Leicester clip yet? Was I on it as well?
  2. Thanks Johnny. Voucher being used on Thursday
  3. Looks good to me - dare say I'll pop over at some point. Let me know if you're going Johnny.
  4. Gregan going to be on Talk Sport shortly. May even be on now - back at my desk so can't hear radio.
  5. I'd agree with that recommendation as a starting point. I continue to buy compilations in the hope of uncovering a gem or two. I then tend to put my own cds together of the best tracks, which I occassionally DJ from (DJing off cds would also be snorted at by purists!). HMV have a few compilations in at the moment at £3, along with a load of cheap Motown cds. Bought 'Talcum Soul Vol 6' and 'Northern Soul Connoisseurs Vol 2' in Leicester on Saturday for £3 each. Never heard of any of the tracks on them (although I've probably heard a few while out) but worth a punt at that price. Beatin' Rhythm in Manchester (Tib Street?) has got a fantastic choice of Northern Soul cds.
  6. Apparently Radio Leicester have a phone-in show every Monday from 6pm to 7pm. Could make interesting listening. Should be available over t'internet.
  7. It was reported that he had converted to Islam whilst inside. IIRC he set the record straight at the press conference when he joined us - he had never converted.
  8. Just got home - not stopping on here long cos I'm getting on with my Saturday night. Just wanted to say it is rare that both the team and the fans do us so proud as they did today. Was a priveledge to be part of that. Could only have been bettered with a deserved winner. Can hold my head up at work on Monday.
  9. Have dug out A Date With Elvis and Bikini Girls With Machine Guns for the journey to Leicester tomorrow.
  10. Been snowing since 4am here in Leicestershire. Pretty heavy earlier but has eased a little now.
  11. Reports of his age vary. Most reports seem to say he was 60. The book 'The Wild Wild World Of The Cramps', is no help. It just says "Lux Interior came into the world at some point during the forties." If he's "made it "up there"" I'm sure he'd consider himself a failure!
  12. It has stopped snowing now here in Bardon, Leics.
  13. Only 15/20 for me. I blame the parents.
  14. Looks unlikely. They hope to reschedule for Saturday if it is snowed off.
  15. Some people still think we were both kicked out at Forest.
  16. Snowing in Bardon, Leicestershire now. Roads a nightmare coming in to work - I won't be doing it again tomorrow if it doesn't improve. I reckon about 3 inches have fallen in the last couple of hours, with no sign of stopping. Clubs generally offer free entry in return for clearing snow off the pitch. This won't be much of an incentive when the home fans are only paying a few quid to get in anyway! Looking out the window at the moment my gut feeling is that it won't be on.
  17. Really sad news. Good tribute Johnny. A Date with Elvis is, imo, the best album of the 1980s bar none, and, as Johnny says, Lux was just a phenomenal frontman. He was like a more deranged version of Iggy Pop! My elbow still has to be cracked into place some mornings after an injury sustained at a Cramps gig, Birmingham Hummingbird, 1990. Have had a few conversations recently saying I hoped to see The Cramps live again at some point. Unfortunately that won't be happening now. I'm sure D_S will be along later to post some of his live photos of the great man. R.I.P.
