Yeah mate was definatley me, No.10 Jones, was fantastic really did enjoy it, like you say there were some people who wanted to win and others who were just doing it for the experience of being on B.P. What ever the reasons for doing it was a fantastic night, just gutted we have to wait another year now!
-
"I thought the fans number 10 was lightning fast, he was just a blur when he ran.........As long as you all enjoyed it though, thats the main thing." I knew my pace would make an impression, just hope Shezz was paying close attention haha. Definatley one of the best experiences ever, could have only been made better if we had scored. Would defo do it again though.

Think that is very harsh, McDonald was a big player for us, in the last 2 years the good runs of form we have had are when McDonald has been at his best, he makes us tick.

Agree 100%

If anyone wants to call Gregan soft, then you are a braver man than me. The guy is a rock.

I see they have started the bidding again to get in on the action at B.P against a staff team, just wondering if anyone has played in one of these games before, and what was the required standard of fitness?

A fit Giddings at this level would be a fantastic player, right age as well, just a shame about his track record can we affoard another injury prone player?

Scholes.......again
oafc2002 replied to texas_oldham's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
Can I be the first to say, that if Scholes does sign for us he will be cast aside as not good enough after his first misplaced pass, and there will be outcry amongst the "die hard fans" that Shezz is wasting his budget on a ex utd has been. -
Some of you deserve it

After consulting my girls aloud 2007 and 2008 calendar I can confirm there is absolutley nothing wrong with the ginger one, in fact my preference would be> 1) Cherryl (what was Cashley thinking) 2) Nadine 3) Nicola (The ginger one) 4) Kymberley 5) Sarah (Dont like short hair on women) However I definatley wouldn't say no to any of them. -
I have never ever, been to a stadium where there is so much negativity directed to the team, that the people pay good money to watch and suppousdley support, the fact is this season we have been extremley unlucky with injurys we have lost Gregan, Hughes, Thompson, Davies, Crossley, Liddle, Kalala, we then sign a Robertson from Sheff Utd who suffers a serious injury in his 3rd game. I am frustrated with Shezz over certain things e.g Taylor on the right, Smalley should be on the wing, 6 month loan signings in Kilkenny and Bertrand the Ricketts affair. However this season Shezz has also achieved success in bringing in Davies, Allott, Hughes (when fit) and Hazell along side the up and coming Smalley, Lomax, Alessandra and not to mention Shezz being instrumental in the development of our bigest export for years in Trotman. The team is in a better position to move forward than it has been for a good few years. The point I am trying to make is yes Shezz has made mistakes but he is a young manager, how many years was big Joe hear before we achieved any success the "fans" need to back the TTA and Shezz and lets not forget we had the fans choice in the proven manager then we moved to the playing legend, so where if we did "get rid" of Shezz would we turn next any sugestions? No thought not! My only disapointment yesterday is that Shezz didn't have a walk round and flick the Vs at the Lookers morons.

All this talk about he Wolfy chippingin with "a few goals" I am pretty sure he has scored 2 this season. I will never get on a players back whilst he is on the pitch, but the Wolf is not the answer, granted he could be a good finisher but unless the ball is laid on a plate to him, he is not tall enough and not fast enough to be anything but a squad players at this level.
-
How can the club be expected to go out and replace the likes of Gregan, Hughes, Davies, Liddle, I dare say they are possibly our biggest 4 earners, attendances are going down, it is unfair to expect the TTA to keep chucking sums of money at the situation, however they have helped Shezz by giving him funds for Livermore and Constantine who I am sure would not come cheap.
-
This season we have had long term injuries to Gregan, Hughes, Liddle, Pogs, as well as missing Davies, Crossley for chunks of the season, they you could argue are 4 of our best outfield players as well as playing with an unfit goalie for part of the season due to Pogs injury. For us to be only 3 points off the playoffs is a great achievment, I guarantee if you took 5 players of that quality away from Tranmere or Walsall they would be no where near the playoffs. I think a bit of persepective is needed amongst all the doom and gloomers.

The End For Pogs?
oafc2002 replied to ghostofcecere's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
If the club doesnt have a benefit game for Les then its a disgrace, you think of the good memorys the fans have had over the last few years Les is at the heart of most of them e.g Telling Dowie he wanted to stay with us. Didnt do a Clint Hill and go chasing the money. Wonder save that kept us in this division against Bradford Beating City in the cup save after save. But aside from all the above I have always found Les to be a nice guy, who has always given his all for OAFC and he must be rewarded for his loyal service. -
Allott, Allessandra, and Davies
oafc2002 replied to LaticNik's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
Allott has been imense but if we are going to talk bargain of the season then it must start and end with Hazel. I would say Hazel also up there with Allott for player of the season. -
A fit Bridges would be a good player for us, however he is as bad as Darren Anderton for injuries, also im sure he went to Aus on loan ?

SURELY SHEZ HAS TO GO NOW!?
oafc2002 replied to Bring Back Ronnie Moore's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
Depending on how Shez wants to play I would go for either John Parkin or Will Hoskins both different players but would improve us no end. -
Will Shez have the money to spend ?
oafc2002 replied to oafc2002's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
Quite glad I am on the 6-2 shift tomorrow, if i was on 14-22 wouldn't be able to concentrate would be checking teletext every 2 mins, saying that the F5 key will get some hammer from around 14:30 onwards lol. -
In what was already a good month for the clubs finances say 300k from the Everton game, 100k from the Hudds game and now 500k from Trottman, do we expect Shezz to be given any money to stregthen the team ? I dont expect Shez to have all the money but 300k in this league could attract some quality players, I would love to see Gary Roberts (Ipswich Winger) Jon Parkin (Stoke target man) Both would be quality additions, and this talk of people like Dickov and Hartson, the club in my opinion need to be thinking long term and building a team, after this season neither of those players would bring anything to the club. Think we could have an exciting day tomorrow.

any rumours in papers?
oafc2002 replied to stebuzz's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
If teams are going to pay 300k for peope like Glen Murray, then perhaps that shows why Shezz cant attract any quality for me 300k is far to much for a striker unproven at this level and has only really had one good season with dale. -
Tony Carss - Latics Legend
oafc2002 replied to Rick's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
Tony Carss is probably my favourite Latics player since I have been watching them, not because of his ability but he always gave a 100% and always dependable, loved his rant against C***s M***e as well. Makes me sick when somebody who would love to play the game can't and then you have those ponces who are happy to rot in there respective teams reserves and pick up a nice wedge, the game needs more people like Carrs. Legend.
