It is by a long stretch the worst pitch I’ve seen in professional football. That includes Bradford’s a few years back!

Read somewhere they’ve contacted Man City enquiring about using their reserve/women’s stadium as the EFL wouldn’t allow games to be played on it as it currently is.

N’golo Kanté, one of the few true masters of this position only scores 1 goal per season. Unless you want him to score from the halfway line why on Earth would you expect him to score goals when his sole duty is to stay in the middle and break down attacks? Anyone would think he gives 10% effort and fannies out of tackles the way you go on. Does what he’s asked very well. Gives 100%.

This is probably the best group of players I’ve seen at Latics in over a decade. It’s up to RW to get them playing as a team and he has had us doing but now it’s been too many games where we’ve been shite. Needs to get us going again very soon or he’ll be gone.

Put in the team to break down play/tackle and do a simple pass to Byrne/Gardner who then move us forward. That is exactly what he does. Do you want him to have the passing ability of De Bruyne and a Paul Scholes esque laced shot? He does what is asked of him very well. What isn’t there to understand about that?

I hope he plays every single game from now until the end of the season and drives your blood pressure through the roof! He’s probably my favourite Latics player this season. Does that make you angry?

Korey Smith was an extremely able footballer. Fane is very limited but fucking good at what he does.

We lost the game, he didn’t play because he was injured and his replacement got subbed off at half time.

He managed to stay fit for Dundalk. RW said the training pitch is very boggy and has caused him to pull his hip flexor twice. How about we sort our shambolic training facilities out first before we write the lad off.

Pretty good post this. Top and tail of it is we don’t really know if removing Fane will make us better or worse until we try it. Just got to hope something clicks soon and stick with it.
