  1. If it was a choice, take the investment every fucking time. He fucked us off for a better deal so why wouldn't we?
  2. Going off his barnet I'm going to say he's not a Peter Clarke type centre half. I'll pluck for creative midfielder or winger?
  3. And never played before being loaned back out to a L2 club and never really making it anywhere.
  4. Having read the comment above from big Cliff, I've watched the video again and realised that the steward did in fact mean it as an homophobic insult. Therefore I retract the comment about him not meaning it in a homophobic way. However my first post very much still stands!
  5. I just can't imagine the steward called him a faggot with the intention of making him feel bad about his sexual preference. He clearly said it as a general insult and not as a homophobic comment. Either way though he is wrong for hurling insults at fans. I just don't think it's fair for us to make dramatise the situation and make it worse for the bloke.
  6. My post wasn't so much to defend the steward but more to just flip a different spin on the topic and have a little rant about something that gets on my nerves. I also don't think bringing homophobes into it is fair. I've heard many people use the word 'faggot' and have never thought to myself "he's homophobic, him!". It's just a generally abusive word, like 'cunt' for example. I don't feel offended for the bundle of sticks bound together as fuel....or the little fatty pork balls. It's only offensive in an homophobic way if that's how you choose to take it over any other meaning.
  7. I find it incredibly sad that this is how the world seems to be these days. Why on earth do people think going round videoing people in their place of work after most likely treating them with disrespect is ok? Not only that, but then posting it all over the internet to shame them or embarrass them. People seem to think that just because someone is at work, they can talk to them how they like and treat them like shit without any consequence whatsoever. I wonder how this bloke would react if someone started calling him a dick head at his place of work, then filmed his reaction and posted it online? I imagine he wouldn't be too pleased at all. It's a sad sad world we live in when getting your phone out and posting it online is the first port of call.
  8. If he signs for Bury I will be retiring from supporting football.
  9. Favourites ahead of Bristol City? I had completely given up hope but it really wouldn't surprise me if the club are playing with us and Ripley is announced on a permanent on Friday getting everyone buzzing for the match.
  10. The Grigg that bagged 5 in a 14-0 win over Chorley last night? ?
  11. Pathetic game really. Their kids are hardly going to be a physical test and are just going to ping it about around our slow lads in defence. The absolute opposite of what we'll come up against this season so what does it actually achieve?
  12. "It's one of the reasons we have held out," admitted Sheridan on his goalkeeper hunt. "We would love to have had Connor Ripley back, but that looks like it has probably gone now."There was a little bit of hope and if there was a good chance of getting him, I was going to hold out. But it's gone a bit too far and now I will go for another option."We are speaking to one or two clubs and I'm not worried about it. It is not uncomfortable, as the goalkeepers we are looking at have all been playing throughout pre-season."If we can get one of the three we are looking at as first-choice goalkeepers, then I'll be pleased. I don't think it will be a problem getting a number two, but I want to make sure we have a number one in first." He says he'll look at other options. I'm sure Corney will be doing everything in his power to keep plugging away for a deal knowing how big it would be for the fan base. Nowhere in this quote does it say Ripley will definitely not be returning. Until he signs elsewhere, there's always going to be hope and speculation.
  13. Was thinking the same myself this morning. There's a reason we haven't signed a keeper yet. Plenty out there. There's also a reason Bristol City or Blackburn haven't landed him yet. It's pointless guessing the situation but there's nothing wrong with clinging on to some hope that maybe, just maybe we're pulling out all the stops to offer the lad a good deal. Let's not forget though that we need 2 keepers never mind just the 1!
  14. Hasnt Given been having a bat with Macclesfield?
  15. Presuming Shez knew we would bring Craig Davies in, maybe he just didn't see Glackin getting game time. He'd be battling with Davies, Holloway, Obadeyi, Duffus and Osei for a starting spot.
  16. Was their U23's. Personally I would have offered him a deal but I'm not the manager or the owner. We just have to trust Shez and watch Glackin with interest and see what he equates to.
  17. RIP. Always sad to hear of a blue passing.
  18. So now we've decided against him and sent him back, who do we think we'll go in for? Has he got someone lined up already? Have Boro informed us of Ripley's availability at long last?
  19. So I used to have a monthly rolling subscription for around £4.49 ish. At weekend I went to watch a video on there and my subscription had been cancelled by them. Went to re-subscribe to it and the only option available was a season pass for about £49? Anyone else had this? Have they just scrapped the monthly subscription altogether now then?
  20. Probably not, but not a bad dilemma to have eh? Can't see it happening but if it did, buying that season ticket after 8 years off will feel like an even better decision.
  21. Also linked with Rob Green. Can't just be coincidence that they're linked with every goalkeeper out there. My guess is Ripley is off either on loan or permanent. But not to us. *Disclaimer - I did say guess. I hope to God we land him!
  22. About average to be honest. Won't catch me bragging but it's usually a snug fit.
  23. FFS that's the one I wanted. At 6'5" and not the slenderest of gents, I always like to opt for the old 3XL to make sure I have adequate length.
