Can an old hippy join in?
Going to and from work I am listening to Bridges To Babylon - The Stones & Strictly Commercial a compilation of Frank Zappa/Mothers tunes
Entrance music either Fanfare for the Common Man, Kashmir or Start Me Up
Goal music not bothered
But definately get rid of the Bongo song, it drives my Dad mad he is pretty cool for an 84 year old (likes Stones, Hendrix etc)
I missed that game also, I arrived in Portugal for a weeks holiday and found a bar with a Welsh flag outside (I thought they would know the result). Owner then told me the score and when I said NO WAY he offered free booze all night if he was lying. So I knew then that it was true.
On returning home my mate at work gave me a copy of the TV highlights and said that if he had to suffer for 90 mins I could watch these. I stll shudder when I think of it.
But the pie incident couldn't have happened to a more deserving prat
Haverfordwest County (WPL) my wife's home town usually get to see them once or twice a season
Hamilton Academical. I had to go up there to work and went to a match and since then have always looked for their results (promotion to SPL this season)
Radcliffe Borough. I have a mate who is a director at the club
But like others it does not really bother me if they lose

Doncaster manager O'Driscoll was at BP on Saturday. Could he have been looking at Eardley and/or Taylor for a possible move to the Keepmoat if they get promoted?
If so he will have been impressed with both.
There again he could have been watching a Leyton Orient player and gone away very disappointed

There was a token scheme for this season to get priority for big match cup tickets etc. My Dad and me could not afford season tickets then so I had to buy 3 programmes, 2 to cut out the token and one to keep inpristine condition.
I think the only time i used the tokens was for the League game at Old Trafford
I remember the Northern Floodlit League and used to go to the games at BP watching all Jimmy McIlroy's Irish youngsters who really did not live up to their billing apart from Allan Hunter & Ronnie Blair
Yes I remember it, if memory serves me I think we resigned from the old Central League way back in the mists of time (the 1930's I think) and were playing in regional reserve football such as the Cheshire League and the Lancashire League playing teams such as Everton A team etc. We had to re-apply to rejoin the Central League and were only accepted when they expanded to two divisions probably in the 1980's or late 1970's.
In the 1960's we even played in the North Regional League for a couple of seasons playing the reseves of Sunderland, Hartlepool & Gateshead.
While I sympathise with many of the above comments and I have been in the position of being unemployed and having to miss Athletic home matches due to lack of cash, supporting your team should be like a marriage (through good and bad times). I admit this is probably the worst home season since 1968/69 but I would still be gutted if I could not go to BP for every home game.
45 seasons and still keeping the faith

If you decide on the Main Stand you cannot pay at the turnstile you must buy a ticket at the office and please be quiet as you might wake us up.
Enjoy the game
Alan Groves a great player and a really nice bloke.
I remember seeing him and other Latics players in the Tower Club watching a Sad Cafe gig (possibly 1976)
Due to my in-laws living in South Wales I try to watch Haverfordwest County in the Welsh Premier a couple of times a season and I have a friend who is involved in Radcliffe Borough so I have been to watch them a few times.
