A few in there but I don't see only being on court once as being a positive and likewise paying loan fees and ticket sales. They are basic requirements. I'm trying to find successes that give some indication of strategy and future hope.
Some people seem determined to give the owner the benefit of the doubt so only fair to accentuate the positives. These are what I can come up with off the top of my head.
1. Renaming and putting signage up on the North Stand to recognise Joe Royle.
2. Putting signage up on the RRE to recognise Jimmy Frizzell
3. Free scarves for season ticket holders last season.
Others?
We know plenty about how AL operates and it is almost without exception bad. There is almost literally no doubt to give him the benefit of.
Within the FLG there are people who clearly have the best interests of the club at heart and who have not demonstrated incompetence or worse.
On what possible basis canuyou not favour the latter? As for saying neither are you confident that there is any prospect at all of there being another game in town?
Every single indication is that he cannot be negotiated with - his way is the only way and it is demonstrably muddle headed. Forget negotiating; it ain't happening. Look five or ten years down the line, not to next week.
OK. It's only guesswork - can't be anything else - but my guess is that they have concluded that with AL in charge the club is knackered and it will fall into admin at some stage so they are tryingto position it to have a chance of survival when that happens. He has ignored repeated attempts to discuss the terms of his club's use of their facilities (according to their public statement) on several occasions before going public himself with provocative language. That doesn't sound to me like someone who wants to develop a positive working relationship so they have concluded that they are better off planning for the long term when hopefully he has moved on.
I'm amazed to be honest Ross that you are giving him the benefit of any doubt. He has got almost nothing right and the vast majority of things disastrously wrong.
Only one person has ever said that to me, Max Mosley very soon after the NOTW had made him their cover star. If it hadn't been in a work context I'd have had a few comments to contribute!
You seriously don't think that having sane people who care about the long term future of club won't have more potential for a good long term outcomes? Really?
