We know plenty about how AL operates and it is almost without exception bad. There is almost literally no doubt to give him the benefit of. OK. It's only guesswork - can't be anything else - but my guess is that they have concluded that with AL in charge the club is knackered and it will fall into admin at some stage so they are tryingto position it to have a chance of survival when that happens. He has ignored repeated attempts to discuss the terms of his club's use of their facilities (according to their public statement) on several occasions before going public himself with provocative language. That doesn't sound to me like someone who wants to develop a positive working relationship so they have concluded that they are better off planning for the long term when hopefully he has moved on.

Of all the terrible decisions they have made recruiting a coach with two syllables in his name isn't the worst.

He had the option to buy. Didn't/couldn’t. Either too skint to do the job so a dreamer or too naive to want to do it properly so a fool.
