    I never knew my other Grandad (the Oldham branch) either but he had a fine old time I think. Six kids with four different ladies. My Dad was his youngest and when he was born the old man was 64! Old enough to have fought in the Boer War and back in Oldham he sold yeast door to door. Presumably talked about whatever was rising to the ladies of the houses... Lived well into his 80s but took them a fortnight to nail the coffin lid down!

    My grandfather was working with a member of the Hartley jam family to set up the British operations of Spar when he had a major stroke. Aged 32.

    Well technically it was the tug driver that was at fault . Was funny when the pilot suggested he'd have a look to see if it was OK to fly. Seeing the tailfin hanging off at right angles was enough to convince me to hire a car!
