  1. oh dear......we didnt get 3 points...cue the onslaught! idiot
  2. Easy said when you are managing somebody else's business. Put yourself in the hotseat and I dont think you'd be quite so blase.
  3. its true. Thats exactly what we have to do. In my opinion, we were one player away from going through tonight....Hughes. Chance after chance went begging in the second half. I'm not knocking Wolfenden or Lewis, they've come in and done a job, but a little more guile and slightly better finishing could well have seen us winning that 3-1. There were times in the second half that we worked our socks off to open them up, through the middle then in behind, it just didnt go our way. Cheltenham are a decent side now, nothing like the one which came here earlier on in the season. A tough outfit willing to battle for every scrap. Good luck to them, but give me OAFC anyday. So the FA Cup wasn't to be. I for one however, am looking forward to our assault on the league. The Hughes Byfield combination is one which I think could fly. If it means we have had to off load Davies and O'Gready at inconvenient times (just before the cup) to land Byfield then so be it. He has already indicated he sees this as being more long term than just the one month and I for one hope this is the case. And as for the perenial Shez in out and shake it all about discussions..........please just get behind him, enjoy the football and trust in what he is trying to achieve. Wish for something too much and you just might get it!!!! There aren't many managers at this level that I would swap him for.
  4. Fair play to you for being big enough to apologise. Yes, Hughes has a petulant side, I thing we all know that all too well, and his first booking was a blatant example of that. But for some on here to claim he may be a liability to the team.....well sorry guys, but that has gotta be tosh. Him and Byfield will strike up one heck of a partnership....of that I am convinced.
  5. Although tremendously traumatic for the relatives of the dead, a tragedy confined to those who have perpetrated it. So often in these cases, its innocent bystanders who suffer.
  6. I thought I read that Gary would like to come back to BP to thank the well wishers personally. I'd have thought that would mean he might pop on the pitch at half time. Yes, after the amputation of his arm, I suggest he is retired............perhaps sarcasm didnt work this time huh?
  7. I've gotta say, if that was me, I dont think I would have taken "Neil Joy's" word for it. I am sure if proper representation would have been made to the right people at the club, then he would have been accomodated.
  8. Great news. It'll be great to see him on the pitch again.
  9. Wow.........amazing. I personally support our players, particularly when they have been under the cosh for most of the second half, and are looking to give the defence/midfield chance to re group. I wouldn't dream of booing them in that situation.
  10. STILL........even though we are TOP OF THE LEAGUE...............fellas in the main stand are moaning. The guy next to me.........."were no top of the league side"..............one further down the row....."Allott, get yer finger out"........... behind me......" Taylor you tosser"....after he had taken the ball into the corner with 3 minutes left. How poetic when he dribbled out of the corner to lay on the pass to Allott....2-0 !!!! Oh how I laughed....and snarled whilst telling the chap he wasn't worthy of a decent football team and should bu**er off back to his armchair!! he didn't reply. Fancy that! lol
  11. As an ex NSM stander, I have a couple of season tickets in the RRE. I've felt the atmosphere has been pretty good in there this season so far, but have been interested in a few comments on here over the weeks saying that the noise/atmosphere at BP is lacking. Today, I was able to view the game from the main stand as we had a couple of complimentary tickets from the club. (my lad was the mascot........great day btw....many thanks to the club, Gregan and Hughsey for making us feel so welcome whilst visiting the dressing room, players lounge etc). It has to be said, the noise was great.....the game had a good atmosphere all the way through. Having home fans behind both goals must help the players......only a matter of time maybe before we start kicking off facing the RRE in the first half?.
  12. Yes.....I think a few of them are. Frustration is one thing, but come on...............! I presume you are playing the role of devil's advocate here and don't personally condone this type of "support"???
  13. Yes, I know. and yes, people have a right to their opinion, but sometimes the stupidity is intolerable. I was as frustrated as anyone last night. Constantine comes with a great reputation and I too was hoping for big things. I was extremely disappointed with his display.......but to abuse him with the viciousness that I heard last night.........wow.
  14. Ok, firstly, I know we all our money and are entitled to our opinion. But last night, I am sorry to say, astounded me. Yes, granted, after what on paper (which is all the majority of home fans saw) appeared to be a good result on Saturday, the performance last night was woeful, particularly as fans were again looking longingly at the play off zone. I was aghast however at the level of abuse directed at our new loan signing Leon Constantine. Some so called fans at Boundary Park really are THICK. They have probably never kicked a ball, never mind played the game at any level. To abuse a player after what was only 15 minutes of being brought on in a new team is quite frankly rediculous and to be honest very very iritating. I do get the impression that some people (and I do mean some) love to revel in the misfortune of players. Well I for one am tired and fed up of this type of person. No more should we have to put up with the verbal diarrhea which spouts from their mouths. I say stand up to these jerks. When you hear some pleb overstep the mark.....challenge them, shout them down, embarrass them and hopefully make them see the error of their ways. Rightly or wrongly, we have a team full of loanees and kids. Getting stuck into them from minute 15 will NOT help. If you are one of the abusers (and I dont mean the type of guy who moans after the match that we were ****, we are all guilty of that from time to time), please, get a life. Take your frustrations elsewhere. No doubt the anger inside you is fuelled from being a kept man under the thumb at home, who is let out once a fortnight to vent your frustration at the football. Well I for one dont want to hear it anymore. So if you are near me and you spout absolute gash, then I for one will let you know how I feel about it.....I will remind you to support your team!!!!! Hopefully I will not be alone.
  15. No brainer.....Defo. Free transfer. Reasonable wages......
  16. Totally toothless, passionless and clueless first half. If you cant boo that first half performance by manager and players, then when can you. The first half was inept to say the least. What magnified how bad we were was the way in which we started the second half.......much much better. Played with more zip, more guts, more purpose. See Macca in the centre again at last.....seeing the boy Lomax flying down the left with purpose..... If only Livermore hadn't been signed on the basis he HAS to play every game.
  17. I really hate some Oldham fans. You are a tool mate. If you have nothing positive to say......do one.
  18. LEGEND????? Wow! Warney a legend? OK.....pass the smelling salts. Yep he was a trier, and yes I stood and applauded him.......but Legend????
  19. Go on......build him up after one game..."premiership player" huh....... there'll be dozens on here slagging him off in a few weeks.....
  20. Hmmmm....ten times £200,000..... £2,000,000? Wow, that would be some fifth round! Yes, Chris Taylor had a bad day at the office today, particularly with his corner delivery. I was lucky enough to be in the portakabin today, and CT came in after the game. No one knows more than him that his form has dipped. Believe me.....he knows! What he does do however is keep trying......something which we should applaud him for. In fairness to him, Huddersfield had done their homework on him and double tagged him in the second half. In fact sometimes 2 marked him with a further man dropping off. What we didnt make the most of was playing the ball through the middle. Bumped into Wellens at half time too. Classic line from Gordon Lawton to Sean Jarvis...........Well done today, I hope you get Bristol Rovers
  21. hmmmm....yes, we'll keep the home one indefinately too.......great commecial sense. Unfortunately we live in times when the kit is changed more often than my underpants. Good idea to keep it as the third kit. When we change again.....back to Tangerine
  22. perfect scenario for me would be a draw........another GREAT away day at the Galpharm (our second home). Now that would be a BIG away following
  23. Its called democracy! Kit chosen in the fairest possible way. So what will you be suggesting next.....you wont renew your season ticket until the club change their mind? Take a deep breath and work out what is realy important in life!!!!
