bet we could just about pick a decent Eleven from then till now, notice the word JUST!
-
The old uns will remember this fine player, could play as a striker or on the wing.
Saw him at a Dearden family do 2 years ago, looking very well too.He peaked at Shef utd in top division, played with Tony Currie
-
Doesnt he play bowls at Royton CC?
-
He's a :censored:! Always scored against us for Sheff Utd, including a hat-trick in a 5-1 win at BP one year, then he went to Leeds for a year or two and carried on scoring against us. Even as an old man he went on loan to Plymouth during our championship season and scored at BP that year, ok we won 5-3 that night but it still hurt!
Keith 'The Bastard' Edwards….. we've had many tormentors over the years, Simon Garner, Bernie Slaven, one of our own Mick Quinn, Gordon Watson, Tommy Tynan, Ian Rush, Jimmy Quinn, Duncan Shearer, Hector Sam, Brian McClair, David White, etc, etc…. but I hate none more than Keith 'The Bastard' Edwards…..
Andy the Pisstaker Payton...Barnsley,Hull, Burnley....Haunted us!

Chadderton Park FC with 40 teams for local children are recommending all children within the club purchase a £ 10 season ticket,
Some teams have bought all their players season tickets out of their own funds.
Today 36 players have already signed up and more to follow.

Hi,just noticed oldham Atheltic versus promotion chasing fulham at BP in 1983.
Shame the highlights are resticted to 30 seconds but we won the game.I ve never seen this game on tv i didnt even know the big match cameras were at BP that day!!
Anyway,go to IT4 website and search big match revisited and go to the programme with westham v stoke southampton v mancity and oldham fulham.
It would be nice of some one sould download it here to add to the archives?
cheers
I remember the game well,it was Tony Henrys debut, they interviewed Big Joe and Malcom "Supermac" McDonald (Fulham Manager at the time) before the game,he asked Royle where he got 35k for the classy and experienced Henry from and Joe said "I robbed a bank".
I might have it in video,if i can find it and get it converted I will do

Suddenly feel very old…Cambridge we won 1-0, last of three successive wins and the last of a six game unbeaten run. Andy Holt finishing off a good move with a sliding volley..
I actually saw this Goal from Delivery Room nine in the Royal Oldham,5 minutes after my daughter was born 10 weeks premature.!
I didnt go again till the Blackpool game 3 weeks later, took my 3 year old lad to his first full game after visiting daughter in Special care unit.He did something that day what I Hadn't done in 28 years of supporting the Club, with 3 minutes left he wanted a dump! Yes,missed the goal that sent Blackpool down!
Same lad,now 15, sat with me at Rochdale last week, lots of mates there his age too, thinks aint too bad at the minute.

My friend saw it and it was a 80+ year old who caused it.It was the Airbag that caused the injury,he had to slide out of the passenger door to get out.All Three cars a write off

I thought our following was very 'young'...lots of groups of u18s.
Might just have been where I was sat, and the fact it is a very close game to travel to, but it was good to see the plenty of youngsters following the team.
Indeed,my going on 15 year old lad was bumping into Mates all over the place.Like History repeating itself!!!

The last few weeks appear to have seen a number of posts from new members or long standing members who are usually only occasional contributors.
I'd just like to say I think that's great. The more the merrier.
Keep posting folks.
I don't post a lot, always remember being told "If you haven't got anything useful to say don't say anything at all", I had to agree with Ronan at the time!

Hartford certainly had a hole in his heart.
I think it was discovered during a medical for a transfer.
Quite a routine op to sort that out
-
he chipped the ball over john platt's head remember that game very well as it was my first vist to craven cottage
Remember it well, lots of Reds there as there game was called off at QPR

STAND CORRECTED ,
Brother just told me that C/field have lost at home this year -
2-0 to Exeter so maybe not so gloomy afterall .
Oh so glad we got them instead of Preston !!!!!!!
If not for 2 great saves we could have easily lost 2-0 at home to Exeter to!
-
hit the nail on the head gaz,........feckin exeter??????
Get real Guys, similar side to ourselves, both probably 3 players short of being a decent team.
-
Could end up at Rochdale if his Dad goes there (Target),we will have to take young Bunn off them, heard he is the business
-
First time I have been on here in a few weeks,I knew Martin in passing and also several of his mates, remember you Janet from the Royton Assembly hall days.
Sorry to hear the terrible news, good to hear he had a good send off, RIP Martin
-
I see his Cousins Son now and then, plays Cricket for Heyside. Will have a word with him
-
Thought Bury looked very professional today, well drilled, confident on the ball albeit against 10 men, think most of them are from Alan Knills squad, looks like he assembled a well organised outfit before moving to Scunny

Here's my latest blog looking at the new (or maybe not so new) generation of Latics fans.
Excellent blog,my mates lad was one of these lads and he is Latics through and through like his Dad,misses the odd game through playing Cricket at a good standard but there's only one team for him.
-
He was definitely a "You've come to watch me" type ref,you could tell by that Poncy backwards Run he did a lot after making a decision.
Taylor fell over the ball on one of the free kicks he gave us!!!
-
Thats fair enough if he gives the players credit when they do well.Shouldnt Former Centre half Taggart be sorting our defensive tactics out?
-
agree on that but once feeney and reid are fit they will both do ok .........elsewere next season
Wouldnt be the first time thats happened!
My family are from Ulster originally, was really hoping he would do well but you can see its just not going to be!
-
Yeh, we've got super dooper speedy feeney for that
Was saying this at weekend, Feeney couldnt lace Abbott or Luke Becketts boots!
-
Are they Tattoos on her face?
Why do we end up scratching with the Turkeys yet Rotherham can carry out a project fantastically well

Indeed, the very foundry that made New York's famous Fire hydrants.
Just one thing, when York move into a new ground will it be called the even newer New York Stadium?
