True, surely an option?
everyone keeps mentioning Tameside, have Tameside, Ashton, Council or what/who ever come out and said they'd even want Latics in their town.
Surely they would want to be one of the exclusive 92 Clubs and put Tameside on the map?
Look how our pinch me season put the town of Oldham on the Map, long before Riots and bent politicians!!!

Failsworth is Oldham FACT
Tameside isn't Oldham FACT
If you are against Failsworth then you are against Tameside for the same reason.
I disagree, Tameside isnt within walking distance to The Stadium of Manchester and the newly proposed FCUM ground, Failsworth is.
Despite the OL Postcode people in Failsworth see themselves as Mancunians and even over exaggerate the accent to get this across, yes I Know some die hards from there but overall it is Red and Sky Blue.
Tameside has a lot of City and United fans but also has a lot of floaters who we could attract, they do not see themselves as Mancunians.

RIP Oldham Athletic
Seriously Tameside is not the answer.
Being a Royton based Lifelong fan, I would definitely want it to stay as local as possible,BUT, if Tameside was the way forward I would support it.
I am there every other weekend with my lads Football Team and you can see the massive difference between the forward thinking Council there and the joke that is OMBC.
Their would be a lot of floating fans over there who would be attracted by a League Football team and if we shared the Curzon ground there is a lot of room for expansion.
Failsworth is Manchester in everything but name, it would have been a disaster!

Met him at an Awards evening as my mates company sponsored his shirt that season, very quiet, pleasant lad, so quiet in fact the Club also put the Bubbly Paul Warne on our table,Warney being the lad he is brought him out of himself as the night went on.
Definitely none of the "Big I am" with him, no age at all

I can't blame players for wanting to go to bigger clubs and maximise their earning potential and ambition, its unrealistic to expect players to stay at Latics for the love of the club when they have no association with the club other than being players here.
Kilkenny went to a bigger club with much more potential than Latics and probably doubled his money in the process.
I have no complaints with that and he appears to be doing pretty well there playing at the top end of the championship.
He also loved his stay here and has a lot of affection for the area and the Club, still helps out local Amateur Clubs with donations for Auctions etc

Your opinion is wrong then, I thought the ref ran the game.
I would think most of us at the game could safely say today's referee couldn't run a Bath, I definitely thought Kennedy was the most influential player on the pitch second half
-
Same here, but rightly so, there were similar tackles flying in all game and he just picked that one out. Inconsistant ref. bloody crap!
Shocking performance, lost control and lost respect of everybody in the ground.
-
Good Professional performance, read danger well and got rid of the ball when needed.Difference between the two teams in my opinion.
-
Got to give credit to the little lads who could take it as much as give it out,Irwin took a lot of kicks as did Mark Ward,2 seasons without missing a game.
-
Just shows how little sky know about league 1. If your going to say something like that make sure its right.
Thought I was losing my Marbells when I heard that before!!!!

The Anarchy one is also a FCUM chant. So not much originality there. It was strange hearing a rendition of Dale Cavese in England though...
Is that the San Pauli song?
-
Good shout Pete.
Was you stood near the Corner flag, looking at the pitch from the right hand side?
-
Roytonians playing in Failsworth !!!!!! Oh My God! The world must be due to end!!! How could they!
Luckily they had their Phrase books with them!
-
Sunny Royton

not again
lets argue about it when we actually have more proof that it's actually happening, I'm more worried about current crowds, you could argue that the two topics are linked but there is not much we can do about it at present
besides what happened to all these anti-Failsworth protests?
It has started happening already Tom, the staff at lancaster club have served their notice including a very good groundsman who surely they could have found a job for?
Roytonians, who have hired the Cricket pitch for last 6 years had been made homeless and they are now amalgamating with Royton, the Portakabin was moved from Failsworth this weekend and the pitch is being dug up very soon.
-
Not all of them, Max.
Like I said, nearly all live in these areas, lol.
I would rather yje ground was over your end Ste, even Tameside rather than failsworth, think theres a lot more floating fans over that side of Town.

Alan Groves Library Lane street party 1976 at condor ironworks off chaddy way
Its where Westwood Tesco is now.
-
its not the same - and you know it
Chadderton,Royton and Shaw are Latics hotbeds, even the diehards originally from Westwood,Northmoor and Glodwick all live in these areas now.
-
Ossie Ardiles - was sublime at a time when very few foriegners plied their trade in the english game.
Ossie was the best player I ever saw on our Plastic pitch, ran the game from the Centre circle, absolute class.

not "exactly" foreign was he....in the strictest sense...
You ask people from Dublin, haven't a clue what that Cork lot are saying
-
Coming back on the best foreigner to play in the premiership, that would be his team mate at the Scum from Denmark. Peter Schmeichel. By far the most consistent foreginer that has played in our country.........he was pretty good too!
What about the Man rated by Fergie as his best buy,the one and only Dennis Irwin?
-
I'm a long way from writing Feeney off.
My only concern is that he's a shorter, balder, whiter version of our other striker.
Thought he grafted his socks off Saturday and i dont mean in a Carlo headless chicken way.Good footballer, could see him bringing Allesandra on too.
-
Yeah they did, Sheridan took him onto the wing and then Alessandra went onto the wing this season, but he has looked better in the 3 games we've seen him than the 50+ games we've seen smalley!
Big,big, difference is that Alessandra has a football brain, not sure if Smalley has a brain at all at times.

I clicked on 30+ thinking we was still in 2010,, 4o this year, remember running round Rocky Road end only watching half the game.
One thing about most of the fans who where Teenagers in the seventies, you had to have your wits about you most games, the Pre-segregation era was a bit of an eye opener, pushed your loyalty to the limit.
