  1. Somebody please tell me that our fixture for Monday 1st April is not at 3pm? My flight is more important that a prank... http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/fixtures-results/fixtures-list/
  2. Oh, like others said, go on those going down and getting stuck in. Sounds like a promising guy with decent ideas and a new vision. Brilliant stuff! Tah.
  3. Can I just ask to confirm: I've heard the fans and singing were mentioned. Is this true?
  4. Wasnt me. Yes, actually. We're gettin' all kinds of shizzle! Seriously, we are.
  5. Hate to double post but what we really need is a big influx of support and ideas from other fans. We have the people and willpower - well, that's hard to guarantee - from other fans who want the idea to become a reality but have no way of going away. Hence us. Anything you guys can suggest to help us out would be brilliant.
  6. That can be done. It's one of the most famous chants but we have time to work on them. That said, the St. Pauli vs. HSV chants certainly aren't pretty... Meh, not sure. Will be getting together with a few of the guys starting this as I'm home for a nice 2 weeks very soon. We'll sort out the direction we want it to go in and whatnot but right now, as you pointed out, we want to take inspiration from Frankfurt & St. Pauli.
  7. Exactly. Well we have the blog getting a lot of attention, our Facebook page and a few good connections on there. What's next? Flyers, posters, etc.? I'll arrange something.
  8. Support so far has been great There are already a few banners - regardless of how plain or simple - made by a few of the ones wanting to help start it up. I get where you're coming from. The scene right now is "messy" in terms of having fans who sing here and there or just enough to have an atmosphere. The idea of this is to bind them together under one unit and give that "mess" a sense of direction and purpose. Of course, it will take some time and work until it's "complete" - if it ever will be - but there's been a few big steps in the past weeks, mainly thanks to Everton and Liverpool, which has pushed us forward. Two lads already made this. Of course more are on their way in the future with a bit more design than this! We always have Mark... Also Latics or The Latics? I can always change that.
  9. Can he listen to the fans (mainstand not included)?
  10. "I need a decent wallpaper!", I hear you all cry! Well why didn't you just say? We have a huge choice of 3 - yes, 3! - wallpapers so far for you to choose from that wouldn't make it onto the site if they were gift-wrapped by Corney himself. From the Sex Pistols rip-off... to something a bit more classy... We have it all here! This man!
  11. It's taken a while and - perhaps - a few years. The attempt at creating a group of Ultras in the midst of all the :censored: the club is going through is almost complete. Organisation has led us to creating a fans' blog we want to share with you guys! The Blog With that comes more - updated daily! Follow Latics & Frankfurt scores live, articles from the fans, downloads (wallpapers, etc.), videos and much more! See the scores live! Follow Latics weekly as we keep you up-to-date with the score in our sidebar as well as the next week's upcoming fixture. Follow ze Germans! I bet that's not been said in a while. Eintracht Frankfurt and St. Pauli are battling it out in Bundesliga 1 and 2. Why not follow our German brothers? Get downloads the club wouldn't dream of using! Of course, OAFC produces some of the naffest :censored:e in terms of wallpapers, etc. But we don't! Check out or Downloads page! Check out our selection of videos, including Oldham chants, glory moments and music along with inspiration videos from our friends from Europe! Have a real VOICE! We want fans to contribute as we will do in produce articles including thoughts on the club, the fans and general issues facing the Latics. Want to find out more about us (or don't)? Click our About page. Find us on Facebook!
  12. Just a little something I made to help kick-start this little ultra movement we have going on. Of course there'll be many more in the near future but until then we'll happily rip off the Sex Pistols! CLICK HERE FOR THE WALLPAPERS!
  13. I don't even believe we could "bounce back" if we went down - especially not with this team. I've never seen Latics get promoted nor I have I been unlucky enough to see them relegated but if they went down, considering we've had money problems around the corner for years, a said-stadium that doesn't even exist and a decreasing attendance, it really does :censored: me up to think what might happen if we went down. I think the new stand would be an idea blown off in the wind again and as for the existence of the club... Hard to say. I always had this idea that if we went down we'd go bankrupt and turn into Wimbledon: a club that once was in the Prem, had bags of history but is just a team parents tell their kids about. It could be worse: we could be Pompey.
  14. Self-made. Interesting how far away everything is... 14.1km - Hertha Berlin SC 20.1km - FC Union Berlin 37.2km - SV Babelsberg 03 135km - FC Energie Cottbus 200km - Dynamo Dresden 235km - VfL Wolfsburg 236km - Hansa Rostock 289km - FC Sankt Pauli .... 557km - Eintracht Frankfurt 899km - Oldham Athletic
  15. I'd love to think it's possible but do we really have the backing of the fans before we go talking "fan-owned club"? St. Pauli have a big financial backing (as well as having them most ST holders in the Bundesliga) and FC United have a large, very dedicated following through thick and thin. I'm all for it. Speaking of which...
  16. Why do people care so much about the ref? We shouldn't even be in a position to have to rely on what the ref does just to justify that fact we might have had a goal. We should be scoring regardless of what he says and how strict he is.
  17. Eintracht Frankfurt - first German love from a young age St. Pauli - truly in love with their fan base and out of political reasons Celtic - I just can't bring myself to the blue side on this one, no massive love for them Union Berlin - love their mino stadium and again I'm not a fan of Hertha's blue side (sick of seeing how much it's promoted on every corner) Livorno - Amazing fans, full-on ideology
  18. I know (or now "knew") quite a few regulars who wouldn't want Asians walking freely, let alone in Boundary Park's perimetre. As mentioned above there's still a presence of it at Latics. Who it comes from I don't know exactly. Drunks, your "typical" fan or - as these videos point out - ultra-hardcore Combat 18 neo-Nazis - which is... Odd. What ever happened to the Famous FYC anyway? Waste of my life reading that :censored:e. I remember getting those tickets from school - one of the ways I got into Latics (literally). Remember there being a handful of British-Asian kids in my class who I always notice didn't take them. I just recall it as being the norm back then and that Oldham had a racist reputation. Things have changed a hell lot since then though and could do with changing further. Shocking what you learn though! Latics giving shirts to kids in Chernobyl? Christ... Great post though.
  19. I expected these sort of replies, I guess. I wonder what the majority of fans think about it though. I can't imagine everyone would be so happy if more Asians were to attend - which is ridiculous. If a club in our situation isn't targeting the audience of Oldham to try and turn the tables then it's no wonder we have problems - and that's in general. Why haven't the clubs gone at this instead of just tagging onto the national campaigns and sticking an orange sign behind the advertising boards nobody reads? I honestly didn't know that. I can't imagine that hardly known fact is a deterrent. Unless he has "IDF 4 LIFE" tattooed on his arse.
  20. I'm old enough to buy a beer but young enough to ask who Roger Palmer is. I've been brought up with a different generation than most fans I come across who support Latics - just to bring things into context. Recently St. Pauli won 3-0 against FSV Frankfurt ending a losing spell. Beneath a giant "St. Pauli gegen Rassismus" (St. Pauli against racism) flag, I sat down with a fellow fan for a beer and what lead to a long, long discussion. It got round to where I was from. I explained "I'm from Oldham and I'm a Latics fan. Really cold, fantastic half-time pies, always rains etc., etc." "Oh," he replies. Turns out he'd heard of us through the grape vine - mainly about the year 2001. He had a bad impression of English fans, and that's not surprising as the only thing that ever gets discussed is how traditional or racist we are - which he and everyone who doesn't have Suarez shirt knows. But it kind of made me wonder... Oldham is a town with a noticeable Asian community. I had the pleasure of getting my A-levels with some great people of that community and even sharing my love life (do behave). But when I go to watch Latics I see hardly any of that community - if not, none at all. And I think that's really, really, really :censored:e. Are we not good enough? Do we still have a bad reputation? Are our pies not good enough?! Discussing it briefly with a few mates in the past, they had the idea Latics had this connection and was still very "white" in terms of how the fans think. We have players of all backgrounds but does nobody think this is a bit of an issue? I'm not saying it's a problem, but what are the thoughts on this? In terms of the club as a business, this is a possible money gap or if you're into equality, this is a big gap in a small town. And if you're thinking "keep 'em out" then there's always Lazio for you lot.
