  1. The atmosphere in the RRE was brilliant today. Good drumming, good singing and pretty consistent - even if some sings were a bit... Naff. Anyway, the incident which I've seen mentioned elsewhere was shocking. The drummer got the drum taken away for drumming when the stewards were asking people to sit down. He was, according to one steward, "encouraging them to sing and jump." Not even kidding. The group of singing fans were having a blast after a goal to Latics, no problems at all, and then the stewards come trying to "resolve things." How is angering a bunch of rowdy football fans a solution? If anything it'll just make more problems - as it always does and has done! What is this :censored:?! It's disgusting! We can't even have a drummer without him nearly being ejected along with other fans?! It's no wonder we have problems with support! Needs to be taken up with the club. At lot of the people singing are young fans. Great memories for them when they reminisce about their Saturday being kicked out of Latics with teams like City & United on our doorstep (not that such a thing would cause them to leave, but you know what I'm getting at). Think it was disgusting and something should be resolved. Ruining the atmosphere more than any give us a wave.
  2. Apparently he said universe... Intergalactic fame. He's eccentric but spot on for that little shout out at Latics from Brian.
  3. Completely agree with it. Don't think it'll be long before we start seeing clubs disappear or sink - if things carry on the way they do. Think a lot of people tend to forget Oldham Athletic is a business investment for 1 man as much as it is a football club for the population of Oldham and beyond. If things go balls up, they really do go balls up. Makes you wonder if "Keep the Faith" is a sale rather than a passion.
  4. First few days back in Oldham and I've found myself directing traffic. Be careful driving. Oldham is :censored:ing mad with problems. Already a dozen bumps near the bus station and outside the hospital is chaos. There was ice frozen thick underneath some of the snow near the hospital. Can't see the game being on but hey! Just a warning.
  5. How did Latics get so associated with Germany? Bilingual signs at BP, I say! St. Pauli invited the FCUM team over. Can't remember the score but it was a cracking draw in the end.
  6. Am I late? As of yet there is no official Freundschaft between St. Pauli and Oldham. It's me and a few St. Pauli fans who just go to games and I've introduced them to Latics - as far as I'm aware. It's something I'm looking into starting with the bunch who are interested. Shall bring a flag along sometime I got done for both clubs, see if it gets any notice. Love Frankfurt but they're cramping our style, y'all. They have every club in Britain supporting them! EFC Bockenheim - the mysterious Adlers who fly over to watch Latics - mentioned it would be a good idea. But Droogs '99 have no interest in Sankt Pauli... Flew over myself last night and will be sporting my hoody against Yeovil. AC/DC were so 1981. The hipsters lurk in Berlin.
  7. Sad to see Furman not finish the penalty. Did notice the booing but is it really still a problem in SA that it affects players on the pitch? Oh shut up, it's racism and has no place. Here's a few friends who you might have something in common with.
  8. This. Football in GB reflects the unfairness of capitalism: the rich win, the poor lose. It's undeniable. Intervention is the only possible method of making it fair or at least more moderative in dishing out who gets what. Look at City and United in comparison to Portsmouth and - you could say - us. But money buys over the FA itself. It's become a game of notes under the table rather than men and balls. Socialist football, comrades. It's the future.
  9. If any Latics fans are heading to Berlin, Hamburg or Frankfurt give me a shout. Would be great to finally hear a Lancy accent again and see a match! EDIT: Would be good to establish some sort of group ourselves related to the Jerries. Their group which comes over is called EFC Bockenheim (just fan group).
  10. I've seen a Leeds flag and a - I kid you not - Huddersfield flag at the Millerntor Stadion before. The amount of Yorkshire supporters is dangerously odd. And the connection? Nowhere to be seen. Just fans showing appreciation and support for one another. Bit of international support never hurt anyway! Will get a photo of the Frankfurt-Latics one. EDIT: I've had a perturbed owl one hanging a for a while outside the Millerntor Stadion. "Vhat is zis owl und vhere are his papers?"
  11. Man, I forgot about that big one that used to make its way around the Chaddy. I remember being under it once for a while and it really stunk. Should get another done. Anyway, I have a few different large flags 100x150. I have one with a Latics and Frankfurt flag sown together. Bought a Sankt Pauli one and wanting to get the same done (St. P top, Latics bottom). So far I only have the St. P flag though... Will get a new Latics one from the shop. St. Pauli play Köln and FSV Frankfurt at the end of the month so I'll try and get a photo of it!
  12. Beautiful. Just what I was looking for, cheers for that. You could really bend those rules though to either get me in the ground or get me locked out. Wrap it around your arm. Improvise! What form of wafty thing do you use if not a stick? Also, where can I get one?
  13. Was told elsewhere just to chuck it over and have a friend catch it but... Somehow can't imagine it'd look good if I were pulled. I'll see. Took the time to email the club anyway, just wanted to see if anyone was sure. In the meantime, I can't believe it's this complex to have a flag at a ground. Christ.
  14. I'm not asking for opinions on this one, I'd just like a straight answer. Where does the club stand on fans bringing flags into the ground? I've seen a few before in the Chaddy but, a while back, when I tried to bring my own, I was turned away as it had a wooden stick, which was considered a weapon. Also had the same problem later that season at Doncaster away. What are the rules?
  15. Ridiculous how they come over the tannoy and tell everyone to do one like a firing squad will roll up and reenact the scene in The Great Escape. Guess they have to to at least show they made an effort.
  16. Can't think of any other game that will get it seeing as what we've been through. United v Reading looks a cracker...
  17. Definitely. Much easier to put on Sky Sports 1 and buy a United shirt than it is to follow Latics.
  18. In the past but not recently, no. Would be amazing to see. Can't imagine they'd hold up for their current form in the Bundesliga for Latics though.
  19. Would anyone be kindly willing to sell me a scarf from the Oldham-Liverpool match (the 50/50) style? In the past I've had people leave the scarf at the desk at the Latics shop and left the money for them to come and pick up. If you're willing I'd even pay with an Eintracht or Sankt Pauli scarf brand new. Cheers
