MacAnthony doesn't get involved in team selection. He has implemented a style of play and a recruitment philosophy at the club of signing young hungry players often from non-league with potential to do very well at the club before being sold on for a big profit. Very different from signing random often inferior players from the arse end of French football and insisting the manager plays them.

One is a coherent strategy which has delivered some comparitive success. The other is like a 13 year old playing football manager.

Agree with most of what you posted but the Peterborough message board says different in regards of interference. Also, it could be a question of how much interference.

Can't believe I am saying it, but he could be the sort of person we need to manage the Chuckle Brothers.

Hated by the fans at every club he's managed...….why would we want him?

MacAnthony, at Peterborough, likes to get involved with team selection so not suitable for us.

and the 4 first team players away on internationals find it more important than club football.

What are you saying here? Don't play for your country because it's a disgusting disgrace!!!

You should lay off the scrumpy.

Because when a team has 2 or more games or 2 or more home games in a row, I find it a disgusting disgrace like next Saturday's game at Newport postponed is one as it will be 2 games in a row postponed.

Not sure you can describe postponements as a disgusting disgrace which implies someone is at fault. As the situation is weather controlled, I would say it's unfortunate. Unless you are blaming AL for the pitch problems which have been an issue for decades.

For next home game against Grimsby on 30 March the weather basically has to be dry as I would not want to see two home games in a row postponed due to bad weather which I would find a disgusting disgrace. Here's hoping the weather will be dry for the next home game.

Bluddy Hell.....how is postponement of matches due to the weather situation a disgusting disgrace? Unless that's another interference by AL......b*stard.

  6. No experience necessary.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join an ambitious club on a rolling monthly contract.

    The successful applicant will have:

    An excellent remuneration package:

           - Generous starting salary with an end of month bonus (If you get to this point.....well done, you'll be the first)

           - Access to facilities at Nandos……(hot water....good selling point)

           - A jacket with your initials on a sticker covering the initials of the previous incumbent.

           - A comfy office chair on a floor which slopes towards the door.

You could argue AL was manager when Bunn was here and definitely was when Wild was in charge

Now this one made me laugh.

Just to take a tongue-in-cheek alternative viewpoint on this comment...….a few people on this message board have pointed out that Bunn's record was better than Scholes.…...does that make AL a better manager than Scholes and should he take the managerial plaudits for the 3rd round win over Fulham instead of PW?

  8. This whole managerial business with Scholes reminds me a bit of Shearer trying his hand at Newcastle but held off taking the job until he had a win-win situation......keep them up and he's a saviour, relegation and it's not his fault because he only had them for 8 matches.

Scholes comes in after the transfer window closes and can now say that none of the squad were his choice.

I'm not convinced over this interference argument (not denying it went on in the past but it comes across as a convenient excuse) for the following thoughts:

     - Hunt, according to some on here, was banished to play with the kids but Scholes brought him back.

     - Taylor is supposedly one match off a contract renewal so why would he be on the bench if AL had his way.

     - Branger dropped to the bench before he was injured.

     - If AL wanted his players in, then why hasn't Scylla, Sohil and Vera played more.

     - We've won one match under Scholes and that was on the back of a 0-3 win at Crawley. We win at home to Yeovil on his first day in charge before he had any involvement in coaching. Scholes and Priest taking over coaching and we've been crap since.

I'm more inclined to believe that Scholes is not cut out to be a manager. I get the impression he's more Mourinho than Solksjaer.

Also, not forgetting, he retired from England early because he wasn't picked to play where he wanted to play.
