  1. I went to that, that was the Coral and the Libertines as well. What a cracking day out it was.
  2. In a bar, $1 per drink was what I generally went by.
  3. The Skytrain (I think its called) from the terminal at JFK to the metro stop at Howard Beach cost $5, and then its $2.75 for the subway journey to wherever you are staying. So its basically $5 to leave JFK by train. You can also get the airtrain to Jamaica station, so just depends where you are heading as to which subway station you want to get the airtrain to. You can buy a prepaid metro card, which you can add credit to when you need to top up. The card is $1 + whatever you put on it. Me and Ackey loaded $20 initially, and I think we only needed to load an extra $10 when we were heading back to JFK. Subway is $2.75 a journey, no matter how far you travel, which is pretty damn cheap. And it runs 24 hours. Be warned though, its not the nicest subway system you'll ever go on. From the airport though, if its your first time in NY, then it might be worth getting a taxi if only for the wow factor of the first time you see the Manhattan skyline, which me and Ack didn't get when getting the subway in last year.
  4. That penalty save is tremendous. Kelly saved a free kick in stoppage time, which was just as good if not better. That win in '99 was probably the best away game I've ever been to. I was 14 at the time, and went to school in Failsworth. So in my year there were about 5 of us who supported Latics, and the rest were United or City. City had been crap for a good few years, so I could never understand the amazing arrogance that came with being a City fan. So beating them at Maine Road was absolutely brilliant. Couldn't wait to go to school on Monday morning. After the game when they kept everyone back, they actually left one of the doors open. So we left the ground, saw a few City fans waiting outside our end which I found a bit odd, and headed for the bus back into Manchester. On the bus, there were 5 or 6 of us at the front, and the rest were all glum City fans. Looking back, it was a miracle we made it back in one piece, as we did nothing to hide our delight at what we had just watched. Also went to the 2-1 win in the First Division, but I was too young to really appreciate how good that must have been. To me at that time, thats just what we did. We just won loads.
  5. No, but saying that the money was all in place (more than once) for the stand was a lie. Especially when you consider that it still isn't finished, and doesn't look like it will be any time soon.
  6. I don't know if the ball went in or not. But how on earth did Clarke miss the target with his header that followed it?
