Just so I don’t get into trouble, can anyone let me know when Scholes free pass is over and we can start criticising? I know he gets longer than the last 37 managers we’ve had on account of him being famous and living nearby, it’s just I have a troubling feeling that he may not actually be any good at being a football manager

Don't worry, would be a surprise if he is here next season

No matter how bloody good a manager you are, three games in a week on that pitch would sap the energy out of Brazil and Morecambe will be back on their Snooker table come Saturday.

As poor a condition as the pitch is, that shouldn't deflect from the poor team selection, individual poor performances and a collective inability to create anything.

For the whole of the game we were treated to aimless punts upfield from Clarke and Edmundson.

Of course we are allowed to make observations and we are allowed to express our opinions. Unless Scholes comes out and explains his team selection, then we are in the dark and left to speculate. He sees them in training, we don't. He is learning the managerial game and it is blatantly obvious that his football nous and ethos cannot be absorbed and implemented by players not of his choosing and who he has only worked with for seven days.

I'm tempted to say "slowly, slowly" but maybe that's a bit too sarcastic.

I am very much hoping that Scholes will be offering his apologies for that team selection.

So the French lads are suddenly a pile of sh*t now, are they? Subsequent to the bigging-up they were getting on here, after the Crawley and Yeovil wins. Scholes is one week and three games in and I bet some are already sharpening the knives. He is a rookie...a very high profile rookie. This is not his team, he had no input during the transfer window and he has to try and impose his playing ethos onto the players he has available.

The play offs are more than likely out the window but until it is mathematically impossible, then who knows? Scholes will not walk from this job. He is not a quitter and I think he will also realise that the summer will mean a squad rebuild of his own making. If Lemsagam puts obstacles in his way, then he could tell him to shove it.

I am also amongst those bemused as to why our two loanees are not making the squad. Are they injured or are they just not good enough?

To be fair, not everyone has been bigging up the french guys and whilst obviously Scholes is only a week into the job,his team selection was downright rank.

We are allowed to make observations surely?

  5. Only thing to do is put all these Frenchlads on a boat, set off from Dover and sink the bloody thing.

Absolute shite from the lot of them, that doesn't by any means let the other dummies escape criticism, they were almost as bad and Scholes too had a shocker.

Fourth division and dreadful, Rock bottom has been reached.

  6. Right, day after and still very disappointed at that lame performance.

If we are to make amends with a win on Tuesday and get a possible bonus win at a very difficult trip to Bury then everything is good.

I thought the withdrawal of Baxter was too soon yesterday in light of the fact that the bench offers very little in the way of attacking threat, the player himself looked to be thinking the same.

The injury to Lang and a tiring Dearnley left us toothless up front for the last 30 mins. That said, we should have made a better fist of it and seen the game out easily.

Nepo should have been moved up the pitch to try to provide a bit of service for a central COG and Benteke  as the showboating Branger looked more like a Morris man than a winger dancing about on the right.

Even if we don't make the playoffs it would be nice to see a concerted effort from the players to get as much from the last 14 games as possible.

Probably not his best game? He was utterly useless, only beaten in his uselessness by Bentecke.

It was the attack that was the problem, not the midfield. Once those two clowns came on the midfield had no out and when the ball did go forward it just came straight back.

He was inexplicably on the right because he was ineffective on the left.

Had he decided to put a few crosses in rather than showboat, maybe we could have made a better show of it.
