I think the fact he's been given two years is interesting as well. If he's a young player punt surely it's one year maybe with an option? Two years says to me he'll see his fair share of games. Which means somebody else won't.

Most enjoyable game I've been to for a long, long, time. Quality right throughout the side. I actually saw 3 goals!! Special mention for Rooney; I called for him to be dropped mid week. His performance today was awesome. Strong, held it up well, great first touch, an two goals! Fair play. Really pleased he dropped Baxter. Just to give him that reminder that you need to perform to stay in the side. Big kudos to Johnson for having the balls to do it. Genuinly think Baxter will better for it.

Said in another thread, I'd drop Rooney an defo Baxter. Neither has done enough in the last few games to warrant a start. Others are either chomping at the bit or have done more to have a shout of starting. Neither will be dropped though. An won't be for a Long time yet. Rooney (along with smith) was obviously johnsons coup of the summer. He will be wanting his signing to come good. (Smith has) Apparently baxter makes us tick. . . It never ceases to amaze me how some players, seemingly on reputation; are still played even though out of form or not effecting a game. How many games should ANY player be given? Yes we can all say, but they did ok, or it's coming. The fact is, for all the endeavour we've lost three on spin. Time to panic? No. Time to write players off? Yep. I understand i won't be entertained most of the time. It's league one. As long as there trying to entertain for at least part of the game, I'm happy. Under Dickov an penny to a degree, there was zero entertainment aka trying to win a game. Instead of just not losing. So I stopped going. The result is irrelevant in many ways. It's more the manner of the performance for me. I also get that what I've just said is the complete opposite of what being a supporter means to some. I suspect there is a few like me though.

I think a lot of the debate on the squad is a bit pointless. The vast majority of keepers, defenders, an midfielders are much of muchness in this division. What separates lower mid table An top six is a really good front two. That simple. Forget style of play, if you've got good strikers, even one prolific (porter in days gone by). You'll do more than ok. Yeovil didn't have world beaters behind madden an hayter. We've actually had a very respectable goals against in the last few seasons, but if you don't score enough you ain't doing nowt. If we sign Rooney, I would be quitely optimistic.

I just don't how we manage with such :censored: budgets that get slashed year on year. . . . Oh wait a mo. Fee paid for Clarke. Coups in smith an possibly Rooney. Can we please, please stop saying we aint got a pot to piss in. No we ain't loaded, far, far from it. But we do, an have for years now had a very competive budget.
