  1. I think Dayton is more talented than Sid. But Sid puts in more of a performance. Dayton goes missing far to often. Sid at least trys- would rather watch that.
  2. Ok, one question. Why does LJ keep dropping him?
  3. But Rooney didn't play well on saturday. .
  4. He won loads in the air?? I didn't see him win one all afternoon. Was so impressed with him after vale, since then his all round game is so poor. He actually looks scared to challenge for the ball. My biggest gripe is the knock on effect it has, I hardly saw smith an wes in the opposition half in the second half. Why? Because they had to sit so deep because every time we tried to hit Rooney the ball came straight back. You could argue he not that sort of player, but what does that mean he can't head it, challenge, hold a ball, or adapt in league one? Or he's that prolific he doesn't we don't want/need him to do the other stuff? Well if he was that good, he wouldn't play for us. I want far more from our 'star striker' than I'm getting.
  5. I wouldn't play Rooney or Dayton. Both flatter to deceive. Thought Millar embarrassed Rooney with his performance. Rooney has a stunning resemblance to Keiran Parker - in so much that he's 'busy' but gets nowhere near the ball. He's very cute at looking like he's put a shift in but doesn't affect the game. He points continually at other people yet doesn't pick or challenge his own man. He doesn't hold it up (I know he not a target man, but he isn't a midget either) . He won't head it. I stress the word won't because he either shrinks or throws his arms up it hair to make look like a fowl. In short he's :censored:s out. One good game against vale IMO. As I said at the top, millar although tiny, hurried an hassled, actually challenged people an HELD the ball when he could, ran the channels, Superb performance from someone half Rooney size. Dayton- one flick, one shot, two lovely passes, three nice touches an that's him pretty much done. For the other 88 minutes. . He got Rooney's knack of looking busy but not actually doing anything. Oh an don't ask him him to go near the opposition, he doesn't like it, undroppable so far. . Btw. Other than them two great result yesterday. An ugly win, about time. Millar. Tarky, ox, all played really well.
  6. I do see where your coming from. It's both pleasing and frustrating. Thought the back four played really well- yet don't keep a clean sheet. . Macdonald worked his bollocks off an could have had a hat trick- yet he bags one. We dominate an boss the game- yet only come away with a draw. Are we always just unlucky, or are we a bit naive? Probably a bit of both. In the end you just have to hope we learn from our mistakes. That includes LJ as well.
  7. Er. . That's exactly my point. We're doing well, we're 1 up with 20/25 mins to go. Why change it?
  8. Hasn't he started the last three games? Could be wrong. But either way I thought his substitutions were poor, both time and tactically wise.
  9. They were completely unnecessary. The front two we're playing really well. We're 1 up an he takes philliskirk off?? Very strange. On the plus side wes an smith proved again how good they can be as a pair when there both at it. Thought they bossed midfield. Mills was a great choice being pushed further up, kudos to Johnson. However I said I think Johnson costs us two points today.
  10. Can't believe no one has really mentioned Johnson's subs. They were com
  11. Rick Holden said in his book, he was offered a new deal at latics for £1800 p/w. That was in the early nineties. Twenty years on an I would hazard a guess that's what our top earners are roughly on now. We got left behind a long time ago. However I still think we have underachieved. . But not by much. I think with the squads we've had, top half would of been a decent return in the last few seasons.
  12. Do You keep picking players if they don't perform? Some have said you need a run to find your form. I agree in an ideal world, but have we got the patience to watch players 'finding form.' I'll be honest, I haven't. To me that is what training is for. When your not winning it's natural to look to make changes. The side will settle down when results pick up, an we get a performance from all of them on the same day. Instead of 5 or 6, an one or two struggling for whatever reason.
  13. Haha. Exactly what me an my mate were laughing at.
  14. Totally agree re- the defence. Even though recent results haven't been good. We've still scored in most games, yet can't keep a clean sheet. Having said that, I'd stick with the current back four an keeper for a bit yet; as they've individually had good games it just hasn't been in the same one yet.
  15. I did read your post. That's why I replied. 'Yet people are saying 'same old :censored:' and 'season of struggle' Are they? Some us don't have a mentality of Now, Now, Now. How do you know that? Can you speak for the some? You know fans will react when the team plays poorly, surely there can be debate good an bad without generalising about sections of support with nothing of significance to back it up?
  16. With respect. Wtf are you talking about?? No one is saying the things your implying. The only over reaction is you an others claiming the board has gone into meltdown following today's result. From what I can see the overwhelming majority are giving an opinion on a football forum about a frustrating game. Which it was. Any fans of any football club will pass comment when they've taken 7 points from a possible 24.
  17. It's only question. If you don't give a :censored:. Why post?
  18. It's posts like this that are tedious. It's forum, with different opinions. No
  19. It's not doom an gloom to say we we're :censored: today. Because frankly, we were. Previously the performances have been good to very good an we haven't got a result. Today was abject, but we took a point. So i suppose something is better than nothing. Dayton is class if no one challenges him. . Sid played well, but no end product. Rooney was just awful- an I've defended him previously. Smith couldn't pick a pass. To many not at the races. However the biggest thing for me is the gap between our midfield and front two. Wes an smith sit so deep it's untrue, add in the fact that nothing sticks to Rooney, you just sit there watching how comfortable it is for oppo to defend. Very frustrating. Please please please can we have runners from midfield.
  20. It's not doom an gloom to say we were :censored: today. because it's jEvery game I've seen
