  1. We'll see if gets near Jose 15 goals. He needs 8 in 30 odd games.
  2. What does contrived realism mean. Is someone who disagrees with you?
  3. Re read the thread mate, quite a few have said a variation of. I don't have have a perception, I'm posting my opinion. Baxter- while being a good player isn't is as amazing as some make him out to be. An DP, while still having a lot to prove, could up end being very close to 15 goals Jose got- come the end of the season.
  4. The love in for Baxter is unreal. Particularly from a few on here that normally speak a lot of sense. He was at tranmere. Why did no one else come in for him? Then he had no club. Then he signed for us- Where were the championship clubs then? Why didn't a championship club match Sheffield United's offer? If he's THAT good? If he was THAT good, are we seriously suggesting that the two top divisions scouting networks are so :censored: they missed out on this perceived lower league messi? Good player, lovely touch, great vision. Quite sulky, infrequently played for himself, went missing when he hadn't touched the ball for five mins. Thanks for the goals. Next. To suggest Danny P isn't fit to lace Jose's boots is just off the scale. Different players- but both have a lot to offer.
  5. The more contentious ones are people like tierney.
  6. It must be so frustrating as an owner when your contributing to players wages an you get 'a non performance' from some of them. I get frustrated having paid my £20 sometimes. IMO he's entitled to his opinion. (It helps that what's he comes out with re- on the field; is usually pretty bang on)
  7. ... And so, will he have the confidence to keep playing the way he wants- with very indifferent results, or become more conservative in the hope of picking a couple more results. Time will tell. Personally as long as we don't go down- I'd take a season of very patchy results- in the hope it breeds a philosophy that pays next season.
  8. Good post. If as you say, this trend is continuing into Xmas an beyond then your right, some very serious questions need asking. But for the time being, I'm willing to look for positives, (whilst acknowledging what you've said above, which I think is fair an accurate.)
  9. I know he did. Do you want Dickov back? He got sacked because he had well over a hundred games to prove himself- an ended up with one of; if not the worse win ratio's. LJ has had 14 games. Is where we want to be? No. Does it need to improve? Yes. Does he need a tad longer than 14 games???
  10. Think I'm just more prepared than some to look for the positives after a guy has had 14 games to prove himself. Doesn't mean I don't want results! Or see we need a lot of work. We do. But the alternative is to just concentrate on how :censored: we are all the time, I'd rather than have a bit of blind hope.
  11. You could go on. . . Really? Dear me, how long is he gonna live off two cracking FA cup results? What does say it about him that his players only turned up for big games. What about the other 40 odd games? For the vast majority of time for the vast majority of games the football was appalling IMO. I've never not enjoyed going as much I did under him. Despite patchy results under LJ. At least I enjoy going again.
  12. Wouldn't we all, it's a results driven business. but, just saying up under Johnson- where I enjoy going to games and on the whole the performances are decent. . Or finishing higher under Dickov- but wanting to top myself every time we play? I'll go for Johnson.
  13. Said the same thing to my mate about him over analysing. I think he's got that many ideas; I think it sometimes gets in the way of doing the simple things well. ( like playing players in their natural positions)
  14. Any talk of sacking LJ is completely absurd; (as long as he avoids the drop) the quality of football alone gets him another crack next season.
  15. Spot on BP. Time again players have come in for a great twenty minutes or a great game, only to go AWOL in the next game. The only really consistent player is tarky. An that's the thing; I've thought all season the defence was doing ok, no. . tarky has propped us up. We're not to bad going forward but one clean sheet is it? Worrying.
  16. Is this the same oxley that won us 3 points against Carlisle?? He makes the odd mistake, he also keeps us games. Give him a break.
  17. Wouldn't say fun, it continually swings from despair to relief- ( with a very occasional sense of disportionate hope)
  18. Very professional performance. Thought Swindon were very poor. It's a while since I've seen an away side offer so little going forward- but you can only beat what is front of you. Positives Rooney- his best game since vale. Actually put himself about!! An lead the line very well. He CAN do it, would like to see it on a far more regular basis. Winchester- just outstanding Negatives. Dayton. Just don't know what he offers. Yet again had so little impact. Powderpuff. Sid was so much more direct when he came on( we'll not talk about 'the attempt' on an open goal. On a side note- watching LJ's reactions to referee made me piss. The guy is gonna burst a blood vessel.
  19. The one thing Sid, Monty, Kirk, haven't had that Dayton has is a good run in the side. Dayton seems undroppable- with very little justification IMO. We can argue the merits of players, but without backing them through thick an thin for 5/6 games it's very harsh to judge on the odd 20 minutes or one game in six. Of our attacking players. Rooney an Dayton have played the most. An from what I've seen (all the home games) both go missing, an both flatter to deceive. So at the moment, I'd give others chance. A proper chance. All this post is of course bull:censored:, because they'll both start t'mora.
  20. It was more a question of style of play. I think it's slightly worrying the mindset we took to wolves. We've seen against vale, Stevenage, PNE, Shrewsbury, we can get at teams. Previous managers adopted a don't lose mentality, I hope LJ is brave enough to try an keep being positive. Please don't take us back to the insipid, negative :censored:e of recent past.
  21. I think we can pretty much agree we're not going up this season. So would you rather finish 12th- playing penny/Dickov type football, or 20th playing (wolves aside) Johnson's type football? For me as long as we don't go down, I'm relativly unfussed about results. I just want some entertainment. Really don't want Johnson to go in his shell, because results aren't great.
  22. It's all opinions mate. I know I'm probably in the minority with Rooney; but I've said in another thread I think he flatters to deceive.
