  1. It depends which part of their investment your talking about. When they had a go on the football side for the first few seasons they ran well over budget. If I'm buying the club- do I have to pay or want to pay for their punt/gamble. Not for me. Therefore they should be willing to write off all the football loses IMO. Recouping their money for the remaining land, (which they've already made back on with the houses and dialysis unit btw) ground, and North stand is fair enough. If you added up what the asking price was without the football debt from 7/8/9 seasons ago, I would think we would be a far more attractive proposition.
  2. Two points. What is Corney's and his two 'silent partners' long term plan? I'm talking about the next 5-10 years. I don't get what his eventual out is? How long will it take the New stand and whatever other income streams they have, to pay off the 7-10 million in directors loans? To my mind, they either want someone to buy their debt with everything else, which is very unlikely. Or they are here for a long time yet, to very, very, slowly recoup their money. Which brings me to the second point. Corney isn't interested/willing/able to push the football side on. Ok, fine. The problem for me is when the football side became a bind, they should of understood that just buying a piece of land and developing it, is extremely different different to buying a piece of land with football club in the middle of it. It's very sapping for the community football club to be run secondary to people making there money back. Which is of course is their right; but to me they should be willing to make a loss on their investment if it means the football club thrives. They knew they buying a football club (with lots of land) It sticks in throat that when the football becomes tiresome/difficult. It's just a business. That's sad for everyone involved IMO.
  3. I would be shocked/chuffed if we got Evans. He'd be a cracking appointment.
  4. Don't mind at all If he wants to earn more, or better himself. That's human nature. Jus wish managers wouldn't spout lines like. . 'everyone knows how much this club means to me' It can lead to false expectations IMO. Just wish they were more honest when they got the job. 'Pleased to be here, I'll do the best I can for the club and it's fans' That would suffice.
  5. The one player in our squad with a real bit quality. Definitely worth a punt (injury wise) for another a year.
  6. I Like Croft. He always put a shift in. Never fault his effort. But he can't run, or keep the pace for any amount of time because he's to overweight. That's glaringly obvious. Shez couldn't run towards the end of his career, (for totally different reasons) but he could still dictate play, and control a game. Sometimes effortlessly. Croft isn't Shez. Time to say thanks and goodbye at the end of season IMO
  7. Spot on. We were so, so, poor. Still baffles me how some downplay the magnitude of the turnaround, therefore not giving the Shez the credit he deserves. He's done a Unbelievable Job.
  8. I Can't believe some don't think it's comparable. The question isn't who is the better manager. The question is, given the overall circumstances which is the better survival? Big joe won his last three. No mean feat. Especially given the opposition. But he also had better players, was riding the best period in our clubs history. The club was united behind him. If we went down he was still a hero. Shez took us from relegation fodder to promotion form- with only four LOAN signings coming in! I doubt there is many examples of four players coming into a relegation battle and having the impact they've had. Added to that he completely changed the losing/negative mentality we had, and united the club again. Which considering the last twelve months was an achievement in itself. Shez has done an unbelievable job, which IMO far exceeds anything he did before. It deserves to be spoken about in at least similar terms to the great escape.
  9. Watching shez's post match interview he's not happy with the attitude of one or two. He more than implies one of them is poleon. Something like- ' I brought him in cos we're short, people have got to realise that when there not in the team I want them to be bright. Talks about crofty for a few seconds, and being quite pleased with him. Then comes back to it with, But people who aren't in the team. . (Stops himself) one or two of their attitudes I don't like. Don't expect poleon or anyone to be chuffed with not playing, that's human nature. However does he think he's better than he is? Personally I wouldn't be dissapointed to see poleon go. I know a few rate him, but apart from his pace he offers nothing for me. He's so frustrating to watch, does none of the simple things well. He's had enough time with us IMO to show us what he's about. A good comparison is Main. The first time I saw him, I thought he was just a workhorse. Then I saw him a few games later. His touch was better, his hold up play was better, you could see the improvement, then he started scoring a few. When I watch poleon it's like watching the same game over and over. He hasn't developed. At all. Main has shown more development in his short spell than poleon has done in his entire time here. If it's a choice between main and poleon in the summer it's a no brainer IMO.
  10. He did it the other night after the Swindon game. G. And the fans the fans were great again. . Shez just stared at him. S. Why do you keep asking me about the fans? I know the fans are great. Awkward. Pissed my sides.
  11. Personally I'm pleased for those who took the gamble, and backed the club regardless. That was the whole point.
  12. Starting to think it might be one of those years where 50/51 isn't enough. Think we need at least 52 to have a shout. 11 points from 8 games doesn't sound to bad. . . here's hoping.
  13. She doesn't even ask anymore. A while back I came in and said 'are you not going ask how we got on' 'I jus presumed you lost.' We had.
  14. Firstly, I'm just pleased to be able to go to games again. Not even to see us win, but with a sense of the club being together and getting behind the team. I want to see us fighting, and hopefully trying to win instead of going down with a whiper. So to the question, will he keep us up? Big, big, ask. Speaking to my mate tonight, and 10 wins would guarantee safety. In reality we ain't getting 10 wins from the games left. I think what's more believeable/likely is maybe 6/7 wins and a few draws giving us roughly 45-47 points. We all know about the 50 point barrier, BUT it is a tight league, and for my money one team always gets dragged in, and one team always gets out of the :censored:. . . I really hope it's us! Heart says- we stay up, just. Head says- league two here we come.
  15. I think a lot of you are being very fair with Dunn. Personally I think it's a disgrace what he said. How has he earnt the right to come out with that diatribe after twelve games in charge of us?? If I'm a dale fan an Keith Hill says it, I'll swallow it a bit more because he's got us two promotions- but Dunn??? They say teams reflect there managers- and this team under Dunn look flat, negative, and uninspiring- tho polar opposite of how he claims he sends his teams out. And guess what the above qualities are nothing to do with a budget, there about his ability to motivate and have a modicum of tactical awareness. I am so sick of the budget argument from mangers, don't they know the size of club there applying for? The minute they feel pressure or fans DARE to criticise, they immeadiatley feel the need to 'educate' us about the constraints of the job, totally neglecting to mention that we've got a large squad, and he's already been allowed to sign numerous players in addition. How patronising to infer we haven't moved on in 20 years. I don't expect promotion, I don't expect top 6. I don't think the vast, vast majority expect that from a rookie manager at a struggling club. So wI just wanted to let you know we're doing our monlogues next week. Why turn up if you know you probably won't go up? For me it's the HOPE that we might finish Top half with a sense that we're trying to play, and we're going to get at teams - ESPECIALLY at home. Is that honestly to much to expect?? I don't think Critism is ever going to get the best out of the players. I fume privately, but wouldn't shout at the players, BUT if other fans want to, that's their choice- the point is Dunn should be above that. Let results and performances do his talking, and have a bit of class. Instead he chooses to throw his toys out, and make himself sound like a petulant little boy. He blames everything bar himself. Newsflash Dave. We're fed up because under your tenture we're poor in most games most of the time. But, but. he's only had 10 games. . More than enough time to give us one 90 minute performance surely?? Added to the fact we're watching the same game on a loop every week, you might start to understand our frustration. This isn't even about results- I accept he's learning- I'll accept the same game on a loop. I'll accept 1 win at home, but do us a favour Dave try an sort you own house out before you blame the rest of us.
