  1. Anyone else seen this report today from the Pools?? It's based on a large number of factors, which makes for interesting reading (sorry if this has been posted already elsewhere)... achievers report
  2. Sorry LL, guess you'll just have to go back to Bugs Bunny in a dress...or jessica rabbit!
  3. Sorry to destroy the need for a poll, but the Cadbury's Caramel bunny was...well a rabbit! Incidentally, it was voiced by Miriam Margolyes her of many film/tv credits including several Blackadder characters.
  4. Is that another one to add to his Hollowayisms!!
  5. Noticed Rochdale allowed KC to leave on loan this week...connected???
  6. Wasn't there a similar scheme launched a few years ago via the Trust (playershare??). As far as I heard it wasn't exactly taken up well...and that's when there was a potential to get some money back (very slim!!!). Is that still running??? Plus the TeamCard scheme, where you use your card when purchasing from certain retailers (inc Ebay, iTunes, Curry's, Boots etc) gives the club a vital revenue stream that helps to boost the coffers!! That's aswell as helping with money off tickets and merchandise.
  7. May well be ensuring an experienced head is around up front just in case Hughes has another tweak of his current injury. The front line is very inexperienced once you take him out. As has been pointed out we have a busy, high pressure schedule coming up! Seems like a good move, and I'd like to see Wolfy heading out on loan.
  8. Irrespective of whether you like a song or not (or voted for it or not) and to be honest I like the tune, but I'm not too fussed about 'celebration' music. There was a club commissioned vote into which song should be played after a goal and Guns won it. Whether you agree with it or not THAT is the song that should be played - not just ignored because Franny doesn't like it! He should therefore be playing it...or else don't kid us that we have some input. You are right that he can't hear in every stand etc (hence the reason it has been brought up by people in said stand)...but the music that is played is something he has complete control over.
  9. Nope there were loads of empty rows in the 2 or 3 sections on the left side (as we look at it).
  10. When the PA is on in the Chaddy this season it certainly seems louder than previous seasons. However, irony of ironies is that despite that I am yet to hear Guns played when we score - no problem hearing the rest of tunes played though!!!!
  11. Thought their number 6 caused us all kinds of problems 1st half. Not so much 2nd half. Their problems were at the back and up front, they played some neat stuff in the midfield. A better attacking side may well have took advantage of more than a few shaky moments we had at the back. Thankfully their defence wasn't good. Think it was the kind of contrast you get between an in-form, quality top of the table side and a struggling one (even in division 3!).
  12. Taylor - Sherbet Fruit...not the toughest of outers but plenty of fizz
  13. Just having a random Friday afternoon discussion (yes it is that time!!!) So I thought it was time for a random Friday question...after all we've got an extra day to wait for the game!
  14. So what happens when a serial number is 'identified'? Also, why only check for missing tickets, why not as you say check that every ticket corresponds with the relevant book? What about when a ticket is lost, replaced and then 'found' again? With the paper tickets we have (especially allied to the crowds we get - plenty of seating so said 'robbers' don't need to sit in the corresponding seat, it just is impossible to have issue replacement tickets. Unfortunate as it is for those fans that genuinely do get their tickets stolen, there isn't really any option. In my opinion checklists of serial numbers at turnstiles is a whole heap of problems just waiting to kick off! BTW, the Teamcard is the first step towards smart season tickets as it's the same system that a few clubs currently use.
  15. It was, but is available to anyone who wants one. I think there is a £10 admin charge.
  16. Just bumping this in case there are anymore suggestions on retailers/businesses you would like to see on the scheme...
  17. Fair enough Stipe, that was a real injustice and probably reflects the subjective nature of our stewards. I've been there and done something similar and to be fair exactly the same process happened - email to AH who passed it onto the Chief Steward who actually promised action (although it wasn't forthcoming at the next game). But as far as I was concerned AH had done his job, so this vilification of a guy who has done a hell of a lot for the club is just stupid and petty. Whenever I've had cause to email him he's always responded, not always with the answer I want, but hey I accept that because there are 5k other people he need to keep happy. It's clear to me that the last thing the club officials want is to stop any atmosphere in the ground. BUT as has been mentioned it's the police (and their huge, growing costs) that are looking for any excuse to overload the place with officers for a stupid cost. The only way the club can head some of this off is to go down the 'fans policing themselves' route and they have been forced to put out such a worded statement because (as even Garcon would if caught with a pen from Argos) when the police say 'you're doing something illegal' they are basically saying sorry it won't happen again officer and we'll do all we can to ensure it doesn't happen again. Don't put all this on the club and AH...
  18. 'Just a postcode in Oldham'... always goes down a storm with my dale supporting mates
  19. Does anyone know of any retailers/businesses over tameside or ashton way who it would be good to see on the list? I know we have a good base of fans there.
  20. Hopefully most of you are aware of Teamcard? The club are looking to expand the current usage of the card and hopefully adding to the existing retailers, thereby making it easier for us all to gather points to redeem against ticket (inc season ticket) purchases/merchandise purchase. At the same time, it gives the club an important source of revenue to help push plans forward. First stage is they are looking to invite a number of additional retailers (shops/pubs/restaurants etc...) to join the scheme from the local area (by which I include Oldham, Ashton, Tameside, Manchester etc). And for exiles, any further afield? So they are asking for our suggestions of retailers that we would like to see in the scheme? A full list of existing retailers, including Ebay, iTunes and local ones like The Queens, and The White Hart,Lydgate is at Teamcard website or full details on the official site Latics Teamcard Please also feel free to PM me suggestions if you prefer. And if any of you have your own businesses and are interested in finding out more, let me know.
  21. I noticed Chris Powell is looking for a club at the moment
  22. Looks like that might finally be about to change... Blackpool linky
