  1. Do we presume that the bibs are the starters for saturday??? Bibs spot...Hughes, Smalley, Eardley, Gregan, Stam, Maher, Allott, Lidds
  2. whichever players impress big joe in training this week
  3. Gazza and Chris Waddle with Talbot as Director of Football
  4. As I mentioned on the other thread...temporary position is actually a canny move from TTA imo...the kind of names that could make an instant impact like Dowie, Ince etc etc wouldn't want to be tied to us when there is the potential of 'bigger' jobs being available in a few months, allows them to potentially get a promotion on their cv's (certainly won't harm reputations if they don't) AND should they manage to pull promo off allows them first dibs at a Championship managerial position should a more attractive one not be available in summer.
  5. It was no where near zonal marking, clearly man to man marking as 99% of british coaches use. All that happened was, it was clear from my view straight on in the Chaddy, Leeds had a very clever plan (that almost worked on the following corner too) of 'blocking' off Becchio's marker. The group of 3 runners around the penalty spot, Becchio ran from the back of the pack to the near post with one of the Leeds attackers in the pack stopping and stepping out towards the D blocking Becchios marker giving him a free run onto the header. Fortunately at the following corner the delivery was shocking (hughes cleared near post) as Becchio had got even more of a free run. ...just in case anyone from the club is reading...add it to the reports in case of any playoff meetings.
  6. might be worth speaking to andyhusky on here. He makes banners etc and in terms of new/better materials for flags/banners/surfers he's your man!
  7. Oh joy, another unsubstantiated 'players in fight' story soon to be quoted as gospel in many subsequent shez/gregan/eardley/taylor/hughes out subjects as it suits.
  8. Great day that one. And of course Holty had an excellent song...well 10x better than the rubbish we get these days. Holty had a good game for them on Sat, but he's also been here a number of times since he left and been rubbish. He's one of those players who when he is playing well looks the part. I remember him playing as a wingback when we were playing 5 at the back under Ritchie, with Paul Reid behind him.
  9. Sheff Utd have a number of linkups, I know one is in China, but I'm sure the other is either Hungary or Bulgaria Edit: Yep it's Ferencvaros in Hungary
  10. I wouldn't laugh too much, more than likely they'll get him signed up when the loan window opens...just in time to play....
  11. Sorry, just thought I'd save everyone else another 18 pages of O/T comedy gold
  12. I will...Peter Schiff...was very prominent in 2006/2007, mainly as a 'contrast' for TV debates. Turns out he was right. See here peter schiff Not that I agree with CJ who is inaccurate about the lasting impact of housing prices. But that isn't an explanation or debate for a Latics board.
  13. That will be some finish to the season if the top 4 all end up with 90+ points, even Leeds with 87 in 6th??? Leicester could quite possibly get 100+ points but there is no way 4th will have 91 and 6th 87.
  14. If only 0.1% of those would turn up to every home game
  15. With a copy of todays paper so we know it's not a re-hashed shot from one of the previous occasions he's signed
  16. Is it only me that doesn't mind what Shez said as it was pretty obviously directed at a small group of people who sit in the main stand and slag him no matter what. The clues are in the fact that he said he looked straight at them and he said it was a small group. It wasn't directed at me or the majority of the other 4k+ in the ground many of which booed in disappointment. Shez has been in football long enough to know that there was going to be some negative reaction, it's the stuff that comes from one or two in the stand behind him that is so continuous it's totally unwarranted. He wasn't having a go at everyone whether you booed or not...stop getting on your high horses and taking it all personally. It was only last week many of you were saying he was within his rights to have a go back at the idiot who was slagging him for having a go at Hughes (when he deserved it).
  17. So there's not only a drinking culture...there's also a swing culture!!! I'm so mad, Shez Out!
  18. You don't run a business do you Kyle...it really doesn't work like that!!!
  19. You'll have to speak up, I can't hear you over the din from the Chaddy End!
  20. Sorry to disappoint you but although the section nearest the Stockport fans looked pretty full there was a very large empty section from around half way down the section along from that and the end section was the same. Why do we need a debate, it's an individual preference as to where you prefer to watch your football at BP. Having the home and away fans next to each other has helped raise the general atmosphere in a ground which is renouned around the leagues as being one of the 'quieter' ones. As for the drummer (how the hell did this debate start again!!!), I take great issue with some on here that seem to think that if you don't like the drum you are some how old and complain all the time...couldn't be further from the truth. If the club (and it is their right to decide) let the drummer stay then they should take the lead and tell him exactly which seat/seats he will be allowed to play the drum from. This is a decision that can/should happen as early as possible and be publicised (as it is as places like Blackpool, Blackburn etc etc..where everyone is fully aware of the drummers location as it is fixed season after season). That way everyone can make an informed decision as to where they wish to locate. Chaddy, RRE, Main Stand...really who cares as long as we have people in the ground and backing the team in whichever way THEY prefer!!
  21. There's a lot of 'high-horse' rubbish going on on this thread...3 days before is bad...5 days before is bad...funny how these kind of threads crop up after defeats. At the end of the day they are human and they train hard so why shouldn't they. Without knowing their entire diet and fitness regime no-one can sit in a position and judge. By the way coffee dehydrates the body just as badly, guess we should be reporting the players when we see them in Costa Coffee. It's all about the rehydration and continuing the exercise on a daily basis.
