  1. Been to one league game this season and seen us win one. Still debating whether to attend this. 4-0 at 100/1 is the bet though. Not far away from a great result. Doyle back.
  2. We've played Rotherham who will be top 6 this season. I'm expecting to lose on Tuesday and Saturday as they're two tough games. I'd still keep Shez over some random.
  3. I don't get why people want Sheridan out. We've been unlucky so far. Even today wasn't a 5-1. Sheridan will turn it around, I guarentee it. Another manager might not.
  4. The results don't do us justice this year. We could quite easily be 9 points better off in my opinion.
  5. Just had a quick look at their team. On paper it doesn't look up to much. Whilst checking, I've checked the stats of their last few games. In the last three games their opponents have had more shots, read into that what you will .... to me it shows their luck is due to run out.
  6. Seen as though I started the topic for our only win this season, I'll give it another go. Presuming they're all fit, I'd keep the same team. Only change I'd make is take out that winger and stick Tope there (Not sure why he's so far down the pecking order this season) or Flynn (which won't happen, but would be my choice if fit) Bryan, Byrne, Davies, Doyle. Expect us to win this. 2-0. Feeling confident as well.
  7. I'm not saying they'll make it either. I just think Sheridan would get us up there given three years. I backed us on Tuesday. I hate backing BTTS and a win as you need the opposition to score which means you'd need two at least. I agree though, reckon we will Saturday. Think -1.5 might be a better bet, if you want higher odds than the original win. 2-0 wouldn't surprise me.
  8. Doesn't need cash. Sheridan did it in 2007 with no cash. Shrewsbury are doing it with no cash. Cash would help, but I'm more than confident given time Sheridan could get us up with no cash. Look at the back end of last season. For 18 games it was promotion form with no cash. Sheridan is key.
  9. I disagree. What Sheridan has done for this club is worth more than any investment that could potentially see us go down. If it's a straight choice, keep Sheridan, he will get us back up without investment. Investment and a foriegn manager could be the end of our League One stay, in the wrong direction.
  10. How good is this lad? He looks a class above any of our recent midfielders to be fair. Can run with the ball, pick a pass, has a decent touch and fitness doesn't seem to be an issue.
  11. On a side note, the atmosphere when Rovers scored their two goals was brilliant from their end. Granted it was dire all game, but from their point of view it was Oldham at home with 123 visitors. Made a proper racket and atmosphere, something most League One grounds can't, Northampton, MK, ourselves from recent memory. Part of that I suppose is because more a less every stand looked full. Bet a Bristol Derby there is electric.
  12. So after Saturday and tonight, the results and the performances combined, you'd want us to kick on now, win 3 from 4 and get right back in the mix. A run of easy looking games would just be the key. Just had a look and they couldn't be much worse. Top of the league Saturday (although as I read elsewhere on here, you can't help but think it's still just Shrewsbury ), then trips to Rotherham who seem to be finding their grove and Portsmouth. With Peterborough at home on a Tuesday night. Think if we're going to have a 'good' season the two home games are key. We really need to be winning 3 out of 4 to try and get back in the mix. The 2 home games do look winnable in a way, we have a nack of doing well against the 'top of the league' sides at home, and Shrewsbury are due a defeat. Peterborough on a Tuesday in the rain is a game we'd need to be winning. The two away's look tough, but with this team who knows. Think 7 points would just about be ok. 9 would be great. Could easily end up with 1-3 though. Looking further afield, if we can get 7 and have an average October, on paper our run in November and December looks very very good, especially if we've hit form. HOME Rochdale Wimbledon Northampton Bristol Rovers Fleetwood AWAY Southend Gillingham Plymouth Doncaster All 5 home games would be winnable against very standard League One teams. Again the away games aren't exactly against top end teams (Charlton, Wigan, Rotherham, Blackburn etc) and they're grounds we've a cracking recent record at I think. (Definitely Southend and Gillingham, remember a couple of wins at Plymouth, don't think Doncaster is great but nor is it a bogey ground)
  13. 3/1 to stay up before tonight. Madness. Every season we're favourites to go down. After 5 straight defeats bookies had us 1/4 at places to be relegated. Do they realise we never ever go down. Not just that, but this season we actually seem to have a bit of talent. I haven't the funds to tie it up till May, but 3/1 on us just staying up is amazing.
  14. Has always been Grant's at Hartlepool. To be honest that's the only one that sticks in my memory, but when I saw it last night Ruddy's looked just as good. They worked it well in the box, looked destined to find the top corner and Ruddy tipped it over out of nowhere. Confidence save and a save at 1-0 that was huge. What's the best Latics save you'e ever seen?
  15. Just got back. What a night. Do I get a medal for being at both? Doyle was class. Bryan was class. The whole team I thought were superb tonight, I do think this has the makings of something special. I know alot of people state it and I always think b*llocks, but Blackpool 2007. We looked good enough and for once have two quality strikers who WILL score goals together in this league.
  16. This is one of the best away performances I've seen for many a year ....
  17. Just stopped in Gloucster. Got the feeling tonight could be special. Eion Doyle show.
  18. Been twice on the terrace and don't have bad memories of it being such a bad view. Granted those two visits were back in 2008 my memory might have faded. Anyone else think it's a particulary bad view? What's the best place to park? Appartenly there is nothing at the ground?
  19. Tuesday Knew we had a pretty poor record there but didn't know it was as bad as it is. Not scored in our last five there and lost all five. Two 90th minute goals to lose and two Tuesday night defeats already as well. Not sure why but this has striking resemblance to Hartlepool away in 2012 on a Tuesday night. A ground we had an horrendous record at, had lost four straight prior to it and people didn't give us much hope. With the performance on Saturday and the new lads, I'm hopeful the outcome will be similar to above.
  20. I went last night as it cost £5. I refuse/can't pay the £22 to go to a normal league game on a Tuesday night, as whatever happens it isn't worth the money. The last one I attended was the 2-0 against Swindon a couple of seasons back. That's as good as a performance as I could have hoped for and I still didn't feel as though it was worth £22. It was nice to back at BP last night and to see live football, I love the JPT as it gives us our best chance of going to Wembley.
