  1. Quite. It made my blood boil to hear Latics 'fans' cheering on Leeds. Cocks. I know these kids just do it to wind the oppo's fans up, but they'll never understand how stupid they are (Well, not until one of the oppo fans breaks their nose behind the RRE after the game - now that WOULD be funny!)
  2. Appointing Gray would be no different to Penney. He was just his nodding dog.
  3. I'll make my way to the ticket office to renew now. Here's to attacking football next season.
  4. Amazing. NYB comes on here purporting to be a director, makes a ridiculous immaturely presented post about 'true fans' and one line that does nothing to dispel any rumours, and suddenly people are dancing around thinking the Messiah has spoken to them personally, and life couldn't be better. A director with half a brain cell would be issuing a proper statement quashing rumours like this immediately, especially as it would have a dramatic effect on season ticket sales. I'll echo Stevie J's comment on this fella; "...k Off!" I don't think there's anything in the rumour, but if there is, then hopefully it will be the catalyst for a change of ownership, management, playing staff and fortunes, because we're going rapidly downhill at the moment, and it looks like nothing will be done to save us.
  5. You're probably going to need a bigger keepnet and a stronger line.
  6. How exactly? If Penney goes I'll prove you wrong. DP = Golf on a Saturday for me. DP Gone = Latics on a Saturday for me. Despite the 'other reasons'. Can't put it any simpler. By the way - When you've got 11 men behind the ball, it does sometimes appear as though your defence is "One of the best".
  7. Sorry, but don't include me in that catch-all. Penney is the SOLE reason I won't be there. As much as don't trust TTA an inch, as much as money is tighter, as much as parking is getting harder, and as much as away trips are nearly all over 100 miles away, none would stop me watching my team - but a useless buffoon who is killing our club week by week will do.
  8. They've all shown flashes of what they're capable of. Maybe a decent manager with tactical nous could do a job with them?
  9. Struggling to keep my cards to my chest at the moment Ryan
  10. I have a house just off Long Lane - opposite the Boat & Horses, and have only been in the pub twice in the last 20 years. I prefer to drink with Yonners rather than plastic mancs. *Cue Ackey admonishing me over my disrespect to his neighbourhood
  11. A Godawful appointment who has succeeded only in dragging Latics to its lowest ebb in most people's memory. Season ticket sales will be halved, thus ensuring the playing budget for next season will be rock bottom. DP cannot perform with a half decent budget, so how people are expecting him to improve with less is beyond me. If, as has been oft quoted, Penneys contract has a £60k dismissal clause, then I suggest TTA pay it up before the season ticket deals end, and watch the numbers increase enough to cover their outlay. If they're a little strapped for cash they could always offload Eaves - its not as if we'd miss his goals is it (?). I agree that Latics fans are often quick to jump on a manager's back, but when you consider the dire performances we have been subjected to under DP, I think the fans were pretty patient to wait until February before the 'Penney Out' chants were heard. No Latics manager in the last 40 years has produced such astonishingly naive tactics and weak motivation. Sharp was forced to take the job with the remit of reducing the wage bill, Talbot at least gave us a decent cup run, Ronnie's hoofball decision let him down when he'd assembled a team capable of passing its way to promotion, Ritchie needed money to bolster a poor squad, Dowie's team gave us play-off hopes (Albeit with a decent budget), and Warnock gave us a bunch of battlers but no skill or culture. Sheridans well documented failings unfortunately affected what could have been a decent side, Royle gave us our glory years, and Frizzell worked wonders with an empty wallet. Only Wadsworth has come close to DP in the 'Worst Manager' stakes. Penney is the reason I and many others won't be renewing this season. If TTA have any sense at all, they'll realise they only have one option, and need to move fast to avoid having to pay even more shortfalls in running costs out of their own pockets.
  12. The fans will watch football at any :censored:hole as long as the football's worth watching. Boundary Park in 1989 was easily as big a :censored:hole as it is now, with crumbling terracing and no roof to keep the rain off those who queued up to pack themselves into the Rochdale Rd end. The only reason BP appears to be a :censored:hole now is that TTA have deliberately allowed it to become less appealing by not maintaining it properly (Despite suggesting that they were spending £400k in maintenance costs!). Blackpool's 3 sides haven't put 12000 people off this season. Put the product on the pitch and people will stand in cow:censored: to watch it.
  13. Only the removal of the most tactically and motivationally inept manager the club has ever had the misfortune to employ, will persuade me to purchase my 24th season ticket in a row. I have little time for TTA, no faith whatsoever in the manager, and no heart to watch the club I've followed for 40 years in its death throes. Unless a new manager with adequate financial backing is in place soon, I will be elsewhere on a Saturday.
  14. I will gladly pay the fees of anyone who offers the services of assaulting some of our customers. With or without a Wellington boot.
  15. Agree entirely with that assessment. I still haven't seen anything from Eaves that supports the hype he gets other than his strength. Lee just shaded MOM for me, with Whits very close behind. I had no problems with DP bringing Stephens and Abbot off, but I'd rather have seen like-for-like substitutions, as we looked well balanced and always likely to score until the substitutions - Then we were all over the place until the last five minutes. Thought the ginge that came on for them (Crawford) looked really hungry. He chased everything, and put in some good strong tackles - I'd like to see more of him. Similarly Mvoto is a real handful who will stand out in League two if he stays at Southend. I'd love to know what Guy shouted back at his abusers - surely he wasn't trying to justify his dummy to no-one in injury time? Or was it that someone had shouted something way out of order?
  16. 83.7% of statistics are inaccurate - especially this one. But :censored: is certainly a player I'd keep hold of - It doesn't take stats and figures to appreciate his workrate and awareness.
  17. No offence to you Terriers, but I'd rather you didn't go up. There's not enough Northern teams in this division as it is. Have a nice day out at the Wembley Ice Drome though.
  18. ... the cleaner at Manchester city has given the trophy cabinet a wipe over. (In case you haven't received the text yet!) (Please don't let this be a Titanic post!)
  19. Sod it. Let's be greedy and sign Daly from Dundee Utd
  20. Wasn't aware. That sounds like another night out for me!
