  1. I'd be surprised if it did, maybe I'm wrong but I honestly dont think there is a section of our support ready to jump ship north of the border. Anyway, dont worry - if they do come up, we'll batter them home and away, you'll have a fantastic away day to remember, we'll get promoted, they'll get relegated and everything will be gravy.
  2. in my defence - door to door by public transport is about 50 minutes from my house to Wembley. This will be my 9th game at the new one, I would have probably gone anyway. I wouldnt dream of going down from Oldham to London to watch Rochdale. I also - and I suspect the vast majority of others - would never ever chose a Rochdale game over an Oldham one. As for the away following bit - away fans are only going to have a small section next season so I should think Dale will bring as many as Huddersfield, maybe more - dont forget HTFC's away following is laughable compared to the size of their home attendance. As for Stockport being a local rivalry - it's never had that feeling to me. They'll struggle to bring 500, to the average County fan their world finishes in Manchester City centre - they probably dont even know where Oldham is! I dont think anyone on here has split loyalties. Are you a rugby fan by the way? Wondering why you feel so energised by Rochdale love - you dont hop over all those on here who have come out with far far more dubious stuff - there are Utd and City apologists on here for Christs sake!
  3. you carry on like that young man and you'll be looking like your namesake
  4. I've always had a soft spot for them - most years I wouldnt be able to tell you any of their players names but I always look out for their result. I would LOVE IT (keegan stylee) if they got promoted because I think it would be great to do battle with them next season. Do 'em home and away, have a proper derby. If we ever played them I would never have picked up the soft spot for them, I'd hate them - they're our natural rivals after all but the fact is I had not yet turned 3 the last time we played them in a competitive match and now I'm nearly 37! It's too late now though, it'd take something spectacular to happen for me to lose my affection for them. I know most of them dont like us but hey, that's life. UP THE DALE!
  5. when the tickets went on sale you had to buy them through Ticketmaster and you had until Tuesday night to do so. This then changed to Thursday night. Now they're selling them at Wembley on the day! Would have been nice if they'd told us all that before shafting us for inflated service charges and postage fees.
  6. what a f'wit that Mark Boyle is. I was so incensed that I almost registered just to give him what for and then the apathy set in
  7. I'm still available for bookings if anyone out there needs a night out without the dustbin lids.
  8. I might as well go the whole hog then - he also went on to tell me, in a moment of drunken candour, that he bought a Rick Holden trilby but wore it in honour of Malcolm Allison.
  9. Without a word of a lie - Leeslover told me in the pub after the Orient game that his favourite ever player is Arthur Albiston for "his tenacity in the tackle and dedication to the United cause".
  10. I'm hoping for a draw after 90 minutes. After that one's in the bag then I really dont care. Things have come to a pretty pass when United are in the European Cup Final and I dont care if they win it or not. Age? Senility?
  11. to be fair, the League Cup in 1962 was about as important as the Zenith Data Systems Cup became.
  12. I'll be the dazzlingly handsome chap in Block 502. I dont think I'll wear my Latics top as they'll probably think I'm a patronising Biffo. Up the Dale! Come on up and get taught a footballing lesson in the two "El Classico's" next season.
  13. I want Leeds to score in the 1st minute and from then on absolutely dominate the game, I want them to pepper the Donny goal with shots but through brilliant saves, last minute tackles, deflections onto the woodwork and just sheer bad luck the score remains 1-0. Then in the 90th minute Doncaster break away and equalise through what looks like an offside goal. While dirty Leeds are digesting that Donny break again and their player falls over in the box. Penalty! 2-1. All over. Ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaa - stay down forever.
  14. The way Rangers are going on disgusts me - "it's not our fans, they were infiltrators", hints that the trouble was all down to English hooligans, "there was only 200 out of 100,000" - all utter toss. That mob on the CCTV running down the street after those 7 coppers - there are at least 200 in that. Are we honestly supposed to believe that that was the whole extent of the problem? Bull. There were probably a couple of thousand people causing trouble. Not such a small amount really. As for the English angle - yes I've no doubt that there were probably a few Chelsea knobs in amongst them but this 'nothing to do with us' crap from Rangers turns my stomach. Let's see the list of people who are charged - let's see where they're from. It's a shame for law abiding Rangers fans but they have a large minority of dicks following them as I'm sure they're all aware - 75,000 law abiding folk, 25,000 boorish drunken d'heads and 2000 violent scum. Those figures might be all pie in the sky but they're more on the mark than the cack Rangers are peddling.
  15. oh, I nearly forgot - I love Glasgow Rangers. I love all the sectarian stuff and the way they just defecate in the street like dogs.
  16. I remember the Hibs lot turning up at Sunderland back in the 80's - a right set of eejits
  17. they do have a large minority of knobends though dont they? I know two people who were down there last night - one went down to 'join in the party' and came away saying he thought they were scum which is quite a turn around from someone who always had a soft spot for Rangers and the other was going to a night class at the University and had to get past a barricade blocking the road manned by lunatics.
  18. hopefully it all passes off as peacefully as it can - they're welcome to smash the Council House up though.
  19. I feel sorry for the techies down there - that's working under pressure!
  20. to everyone who has posted on this thread - how many of you actually properly full on 'care' for the non Latics clubs you follow. If I'm honest with myself even defeats in important games for the 4 I mentioned merit not much more than a flicker. There is only one true faith after all. Are any of you actually gutted if your other teams lose?
  21. What a nest of perverts we have, I hope that Wozz is a front for some kind of enforcement squad and this whole thread is some beastly trick to ensnare the wrong uns who walk amongst us.
  22. oh, nearly forgot, Chesham United - pride of the Home Counties
  23. MK Dons? That's obscene. As is the Everton one. And all the others. They're all ********. All of 'em. Although Dale are ok along with Espanyol & Schalke. Meadowbank used to be rockin' but they were murdered.
